Alex Rodriguez makes rare remark about ex Cameron Diaz with glimpse into relationship

A recent episode of Alex Rodriguez‘s documentary series offered a rare look at his relationship with Cameron Diaz.

Former New York Yankee, 50, has dated several famous women, including actress Cameron Diaz, with whom he was in a relationship from 2010 to 2011.

Their relationship was hinted at in the third episode of Alex Rodriguez’s HBO docuseries, where he mentioned he was already dealing with a lot of personal issues when they started dating.

After Rodriguez’s team won the 2009 World Series, his career really took off, and he soon started dating Diaz.

It felt like the World Series happened so quickly,” he explained. “I was at the peak of my baseball career, but I was also dealing with a lot of other things at the same time.

As he said that, images of Rodriguez with Diaz appeared on the screen. 

Rodriguez began dating Diaz in May 2010, several years after his divorce from Cynthia Scurtis, who is the mother of his two daughters.

The couple spent nearly eighteen months together and were often photographed on vacation with other celebrities, like Naomi Campbell.

Cameron met the athlete’s children and, according to reports, even relocated to Miami to live nearer to him.

But despite two attempts at the relationship, they split in September 2011.

Cameron Diaz, now married to Benji Madden, recently shared with InStyle that after a difficult breakup, she told a friend, “This really hurts!”

‘And he said to me, “That just shows you what your capacity for loving is.”

While covering a game between the Tampa Bay Rays and Boston Red Sox for Fox Sports in 2021, Rodriguez found himself remembering his past relationship.

During a recent broadcast, sportscasters showed a clip of someone feeding actor Cameron Diaz popcorn at the 2010 Super Bowl while talking about a Tampa Bay Rays player eating during the game.

Kevin Burkhardt commented on how relaxed the Rays team is. Nelson Cruz jokingly mentioned he wanted popcorn, so someone got him some, and he ended up enjoying it while the game was in progress.

He added that people have often snacked on popcorn during games, then a video played showing his ex-wife, Diaz, feeding him popcorn while they watched the 2010 Super Bowl.

The baseball star, who had just broken up with Jennifer Lopez, jokingly responded to a comment by saying, ‘That might be why I’m single.’
