Alec Baldwin and Hilaria Criticized for Exploiting Rust Tragedy in Reality Show

Monday had me on the edge of my seat when TLC finally revealed the initial trailer for Alec Baldwin and his wife Hilaria’s reality show titled “The Baldwins.” Mark your calendars, folks! It’s set to premiere on February 23rd. Prepare yourself for a rollercoaster ride into their vibrant household filled with seven energetic kids, six adorable pets, and the two captivating parents – the Baldwins! Can’t wait to join them in their wild journey!

In 18 seconds, a married couple who have been together for 12 years playfully admonished their children about not using the pool as a bathroom and about eating chocolate. Then, the scene abruptly switched to black, followed by a reveal of the New Mexico desert, the location where the film “Rust” was shot.

41-year-old art enthusiast, who was embroiled in a controversial incident in 2020, mournfully expressed that he had tragically lost his mother in an event beyond imagination.

‘This is never something to forget, and we’re trying to parent through it.’

Later on, Alec wipes his eyes before admitting sincerely, ‘To be truthful, deep within me, I can’t imagine where I’d be without you and these children.’

Hilaria, formerly known as Hillary Lynn Hayward-Thomas, commented: “We’ve faced tough times, but we’ve built our strength on a firm foundation… We stand strong and we’re united.

On July 12, the involuntary manslaughter trial against the 66-year-old Oscar nominee was dropped because he asserted that he never pulled the trigger on the revolver which accidentally discharged a bullet into director Joel Souza’s arm and fatally wounded cinematographer Halyna Hutchins in 2021.

Sadly, Halyna passed away at the age of 42, leaving behind her spouse Matt Hutchins and their 12-year-old son, Andros.

As a devoted admirer, I can’t help but share that on the 15th of April, Hannah Gutierrez-Reed, the dedicated Rust armorer, was sentenced to spend 18 months behind bars at the New Mexico Women’s Correctional Facility. This sentence comes as a result of her involuntary manslaughter conviction, which is connected to her role in the tragic shooting incident.

On the 9th of January, Baldwin instigated a civil lawsuit against the prosecutors, investigators, and commissioners connected with the Rust case, charging them with defamation, malicious prosecution, and infringement on civil rights. This legal action stems from their alleged intentional mishandling of evidence.

On TLC’s main YouTube channel, the user @diansasmita-tx7eh posted this comment: “‘A boy has unfortunately lost his mother in an unimaginably sad event and is attempting to navigate parenthood on his own.’ Somehow, they managed to turn it into their own story.

YouTube user @sowhappy concurred, finding it regrettable to exploit a death for publicity, more so when one was directly involved. It seems insincere to express remorse while living in luxury, surrounded by a well-kept garden and swimming pool. Let the melancholic melodies play.

According to YouTube user @TruthBeTold0914, “He murders someone (we understand this is a sacrificial act), and his wife feigns being Spanish.

‘This demonstrates that if you’re prominent in the celebrity sphere, you can often escape consequences for your actions and even land your own TV show – it’s all part of a public relations strategy to improve their image.’

On TLC’s Instagram page, several viewers found themselves pondering about the absence of the Baldwins’ two nannies in the show’s preview.

Instagram user @italia_vita_bella commented: ‘ pretending to be an entire Spanish character, deceiving the public about it and at the same time neglecting to mention the numerous nannies in her countdown of their life while giving the impression that they’re managing on their own, only adds to the insincere messages she shares. I prefer not to engage with such content.’

‘Why not mention how many nannies?!’ Instagram user @anyutka7 added.

Instagram user @myrtlefobert posted: ‘Two extremely annoying individuals. One with a history of deceit and swindling, the other with an unpredictable temper and inflated ego. What could possibly go awry? It’s worth noting that she doesn’t factor in (and neither does her “book”) the team of nannies and cleaners who actually do the heavy lifting.’

‘The show that absolutely NOBODY asked for,’ Instagram user @lpbower860 scoffed.

And Instagram user @comiskeyniall joked: ‘Does it come with Spanish subtitles?’

Additionally, the Baldwin preview omitted mention of Alec’s oldest daughter Ireland, born in Oregon during his seven-year union with Academy Award recipient Kim Basinger. She recently became a mother to a 20-month-old child named Holland, who shares this milestone with Grammy winner RAC.

On November 11, the host of the Here’s the Thing podcast shared with AP that he found his performance less engaging when not given a script, preferring instead to be directed on what actions to take.

Baldwin and his ex-yoga instructor are beaming with joy as parents to their children: Carmen (11 years old), Rafael (9), Leonardo (8), Romeo (6), Eduardo (4), Maria (3), and Ilaria (2).

18th February will be the day when the beloved pair celebrates their 14th anniversary, having first met on a dinner date at the now-defunct restaurant Pure Food and Wine, located in New York City.

This year, Hilaria will be releasing two books: a co-authored skincare and beauty guide titled “Glowing Up,” which is set to hit the shelves on March 4th; and a guide for motherhood named “Manual Not Included,” scheduled for release on May 6th.

On the 50th Anniversary Show of Saturday Night Live, airing on NBC on February 16, it is Alec who will be next to appear.

In the final episode of the long-running comedy series that aired on December 21st, the three-time Emmy Award recipient was spotted wearing the distinctive robe associated with The Five-Timers Club.
