Alan Ritchson, the star of ‘Reacher,’ is facing a wave of over 100 death threats after a violent fight with a neighbor, according to the neighbor. The neighbor claims the threats began following the brawl.
A fight broke out in Brentwood, Tennessee, a Nashville suburb, on Sunday. Video footage seems to show the actor hitting Ronnie Taylor after Taylor spoke to him about the loud noise from his motorcycle.
Taylor reportedly tried to stop Ritchson from speeding on his bike through the neighborhood, which led to a physical fight.
After investigating, the Brentwood Police Department concluded that Ritchson acted in self-defense and decided not to file any charges, closing the case.
But the aftermath has turned sinister.
Taylor reports receiving over 100 threatening and abusive messages from angry fans. He told TMZ on Friday that one caller even said they were eager to see him struggling to breathe, using a breathing tube.
Taylor said another caller – again from a blocked number – threatened to put him in a wheelchair.
As for the texts, he claims one message simply read, ‘Die, die, die.’
Taylor reported receiving another message wishing him harm, stating, ‘I hope your wife divorces you, your children never talk to you again, and you experience a terrible death.’
Taylor told TMZ he briefly spoke with a police officer who suggested he file a formal complaint if he truly felt unsafe. However, he currently considers the harassing behavior to be online trolling and hasn’t reported it to the police.
These new statements follow Taylor’s announcement that he won’t sue Ritchson. He explained he didn’t want to make things worse, especially since the police have already decided not to file charges against the actor.
Taylor, 56, explained that she was concerned solely with the safety of her neighborhood, as the individual in question was speeding through it.
He firmly denied receiving any money from the situation, stating he didn’t get ‘even a single penny’ as part of any agreement.
Oh my gosh, you won’t BELIEVE this! Taylor just said he didn’t even try to get a lawyer! Can you imagine? He was up against a total Hollywood A-lister, someone with an army of legal professionals, and Taylor was just…going at it alone! He literally said, ‘He’s got lawyers, I didn’t even bother!’ It’s just…so brave and honestly, a little heartbreaking. He was so outmatched, but he didn’t even think to ‘lawyer up’! I’m obsessed with how incredibly real he is!
He stated he didn’t find out the police believed Ritchson acted in self-defense until after he’d already made up his mind not to press charges.
Police have confirmed to the Daily Mail that Ritchson won’t face charges after a Sunday argument with his neighbor, Taylor.
Police stated the actor acted in self-defense when he hit Taylor and told him to stop. This conclusion is supported by recently released bodycam video the actor filmed himself and posted on TikTok.
The video shows a man, Taylor, seemingly starting an argument by pushing Ritchson off his green Kawasaki motorcycle after walking into the street to stop him.
The footage offers a clearer picture of how the confrontation spiraled into violence.
Taylor appeared upset and walked towards Ritchson while he was riding down a residential street with his two young children close by.
Okay, so here’s what happened. This guy, Taylor, just walked right off his property, across the sidewalk, and then into the street. He actually stepped directly in front of the actor, putting himself right in his way. It was a really bold – and honestly, concerning – move.
He intentionally positioned himself in front of the motorcycle, standing with his legs wide apart in a confrontational way. This seemed to be done to challenge the rider, who then got off the bike and walked toward him.
During a tense argument, Taylor reportedly told Ritchson he was driving recklessly, and expressed concern that children nearby could be endangered.
Ritchson angrily responded to his neighbor, accusing him of being unreasonable and asking if he’d been drinking.
The actor also says he should have ‘run him over’ as Taylor stepped into the road.
Shortly after, Ritchson is shown lifting his motorcycle, getting back on, and revving the engine multiple times, which seems to really upset Taylor.
Taylor then pushes both the actor and the bike into the street twice.
The situation then escalated to violence, with Ritchson seemingly hitting Taylor in the face several times and telling him to stay on the ground.
