Alan Ritchson in Talks for a Messy DC Role: 5 Villains He Could Play

Alan Ritchson is in discussions to join the DC Universe, and he’s hoping to play a villain! He recently told ScreenRant he’s looking for a more complex, ‘messier’ role – someone who isn’t a typical hero. Fans are now wondering which DC villain might be a good fit for him.

DC Villains Alan Ritchson could play in DCU

Bane

Bane first appeared in the comic book Batman: Vengeance of Bane. He’s a notorious international criminal and is considered Batman’s greatest foe. His father protested against the government and was imprisoned, and young Bane was forced to serve the sentence in his place. During his time in prison, Bane dedicated himself to physical and mental training, becoming incredibly powerful. After his release, he began building his criminal empire.

Deathstroke

Known as the most dangerous assassin in the DC Universe, this character first appeared in The New Teen Titans. He gained his incredible abilities from a special, experimental serum designed to create super-soldiers. Behind the mask is Slade Joseph Wilson, a highly skilled mercenary and former soldier.

Mongul

As a comic book fan, I recently discovered this really interesting character who first showed up in DC Comics Presents #27. He’s basically a ruthless tyrant from the planet Warzoon, and he used to be part of this villainous group called the Sinister Corps. What’s cool is he’s incredibly powerful – we’re talking superhuman strength, lightning-fast reflexes, amazing stamina, and a unique Warzoon biology that lets him heal super quickly. Oh, and he can shoot heat beams from his eyes and fly, too! He’s got a whole bunch of abilities that make him a serious threat.

Kalibak

Kalibak, the first child of Darkseid and Suli, grew up on New Earth under tragic circumstances – his grandmother ordered Desaad to kill his mother. He became a renowned warrior and a trusted enforcer for Darkseid. Kalibak possesses the abilities typical of a New God, including incredible speed, strength, and invulnerability, among others.

Cyborg Superman

Cyborg Superman is actually Henry Henshaw, a former NASA astronaut. He first appeared as Henry in a Superman comic book in 1990, and later as Cyborg Superman in another issue. During a space mission, his crew was exposed to a solar flare, and everyone died except for Henry. The flare drastically changed his body, leading him to transfer his consciousness into the birthing matrix used to create Superman. This allowed him to build a new, cyborg body that resembled Superman. Believing Superman caused the solar flare, he traveled to Earth seeking revenge, only to find Superman had already died.
