Pictures have been released showing Alan Carr’s impressive new Scottish castle, which he purchased for £3.25 million and resembles a setting from the show ‘The Traitors’.
The Celebrity Traitors champion, 49, purchased Ayton Castle earlier this year.
This enormous property includes 17 bedrooms, nine bathrooms, a five-story tower, a private chapel, and 106 acres of beautiful gardens.
The comedian recently said he’s gotten the property survey and is ready to start renovating as soon as he receives the keys.
Alan became popular again last year when he won the first season of Celebrity Traitors.
The show’s filming location, Ardross Castle, clearly influenced him to buy a similar, grand estate. He intends to renovate it into a high-end hotel and spa.
Last February, Alan revealed to The Sun that he’d agreed to a multi-million dollar contract with Disney+ to create a show about restoring Ayton Castle.
He joked about his recent purchase, saying that while some people going through a midlife crisis buy sports cars or change their appearance, he decided he wanted to own a castle.
Growing up in Northampton, I always had ambitious dreams and a fascination with the beauty and stories behind grand, historic houses.
Now that I’m turning fifty, I’m ready for a big change – I just want a castle with a drawbridge to defend!
The new renovation show, currently called ‘Castle Man,’ will follow a format similar to the one used in his previous show with Amanda Holden.
Oh my gosh, you guys, I just found out Expectation – the amazing people who made Clarkson’s Farm, my absolute favorite show ever – are the ones producing this new one too! Seriously, if it’s anything like Clarkson’s Farm, we’re all in for a treat. I’m already counting down the days!
The Daily Mail contacted Alan’s representatives for comment.
Just last month, Alan revealed he is now a baron after purchasing the £3.25 million castle.
The celebrity has officially confirmed he owns the rights to the title ‘The Barony of Ayton’ and is working on designing his own tartan pattern.
The barony dates back to 1324 and was available to purchase alongside the estate.
Alan, after being on the show Celebrity Traitors, was inspired to purchase Ayton Castle. He discussed his new life and status with Pete Wicks and Sam Thompson on their podcast, Staying Relevant.
He explained he’s embracing a new phase of life, wanting to build a secure and comfortable existence – like having his own castle. At 50, he feels a sense of urgency and wants to focus on pursuing his personal desires, knowing his time is finite.
‘I’ve always wanted a castle. I’m a baron. I’m going to get my own tartan.’
Let me clear something up – I’ve heard the rumors, but I want to set the record straight: I did, in fact, purchase it! There was some talk that someone else got it, but that’s simply not true. It’s mine, and I’m thrilled!
I’m really excited about this project – it’s been a while since I felt this motivated! I have the survey results, and I’m just waiting to get access to the data.
The meeting where he intended to share his ambitious plans was delayed because far more people than expected were planning to attend.
The event was originally planned for March 18th, but it had to be canceled because Ayton Bowling Club, the planned location, can only hold 120 people.
People are worried that the castle grounds might be closed to the public.
People can share any questions or concerns they have about the program with the community council for now.
