Alan Carr splashes out on a £3.25m Traitors-style castle in the Scottish Borders – and fans will get a peek inside in new Disney+ series

Alan Carr recently purchased a £3.25 million castle in the Scottish Borders, reportedly celebrating his victory on the reality show The Traitors with the extravagant purchase.

The 49-year-old comedian became popular again last year after winning the first season of Celebrity Traitors.

Alan, who is a known admirer of the famous castle from The Traitors, has bought a grand, ornate house. He intends to transform it into a high-end hotel and spa.

Alan has agreed to a multi-million pound deal with Disney+ to create a series following the restoration of Ayton Castle, as he told The Sun.

This large property includes 16 bedrooms, 160 acres of beautiful gardens, and even a small railway line.

Okay, so Alan just announced he’s buying a castle! A CASTLE! He said everyone else gets a sports car or tries to look younger during a midlife crisis, but not him. He wants actual turrets and everything. I mean, can you even imagine? It’s brilliant! He’s my hero, honestly. A castle! It’s just…perfect.

Growing up in Northampton, I’ve always been a dreamer, especially fascinated by the beauty and stories behind grand, historic homes.

Now that I’m turning fifty, I’m ready for a big change – I just want a castle with a drawbridge I can control!

The new renovation show, currently called ‘Castle Man,’ will follow a format similar to the one used in his previous show with Amanda Holden.

The show is being made by Expectation, the production company behind Clarkson’s Farm.

The Daily Mail has contacted representatives for Alan for comment.

This news might be well-timed, as it was recently announced that his popular BBC home renovation show with Amanda could take a break this year, following his new project renovating castles.

Because Alan is so busy with work, it’s doubtful he’ll be able to film the new season of his popular BBC show, The Italian Job, with Amanda this year.

In addition to winning The Traitor, the reality star is said to have secured work with two more streaming platforms, starting this year. He’s also incredibly busy, as he’s already booked a major stand-up comedy tour that will take up much of 2027.

According to a source at Daily Mail, disagreements arose over where to film the renovation show. Amanda and Alan preferred Japan, but the BBC favored Scandinavia because it was more affordable and easier to reach.

According to a source, Amanda and Alan became too busy with other commitments, making it impossible to schedule enough time for filming this year.

The show will be temporarily paused this year while Amanda and Alan find a new location they both enjoy and have time to film in. But don’t worry, it will return!

Daily Mail has contacted the BBC and Alan and Amanda’s representatives for comment.

Oh my gosh, you guys, remember The Italian Job with Amanda and Alan? It was HUGE when it was on! Seriously, everyone was talking about it – it was definitely one of the biggest shows of the year, I was completely obsessed!

As a lifestyle expert, I’ve seen how a truly beloved show can really take off! It’s no surprise that after its initial success, we got a whole series of fantastic follow-ups – everyone loved ‘The Spanish Job,’ ‘The Greek Job,’ and who could forget that special Italian Job Christmas episode? It just proves how much people connected with the original!

Amanda & Alan’s newest show, “Greek Job,” is their most popular one so far, averaging four million viewers each time it airs.

This eight-episode BBC show follows Amanda and Alan, two best friends, as they renovate a rundown house on the Greek island of Corfu.

Throughout the show, the pair tackles major problems with the house – from collapsing structures and tricky designs to challenging home improvement projects – all as they work to turn the run-down property into a perfect vacation spot.

The show might not air this year, just days after reports surfaced that Alan is working on a new streaming series called ‘The F List’ for Amazon Prime Video.

According to The Sun, he’s joining comedians like Jack Dee, Tom Allen, and Joanne McNally on a tour where they’ll try out bucket-list activities – things people say everyone should experience before they die.

This four-episode series will take viewers to Iceland, the Canary Islands, and various spots in England and Scotland.

The programme is set to hit screens later this year.
