Alan Carr shocked us all by flipping from being the worst Celebrity Traitor to the best overnight

It’s been a surprising turn of events on *The Celebrity Traitors*. Everyone initially thought Alan Carr was a really bad traitor, but things have completely shifted. He seemed so obviously suspicious in the first couple of episodes that we all expected him to be discovered quickly, but now, it’s not so clear.

He’s completely transformed into a villain, now actively enjoying the role of choosing who suffers and enthusiastically issuing deadly commands. It’s a shocking change from how hesitant and troubled he seemed at the beginning!

He’s become more comfortable sharing his thoughts during the castle’s daily chats, though he once accidentally implied Tameka and Kate were traitors. He immediately corrected himself, saying he meant they were loyal, and this actually helped him appear as one of them. The conversation then shifted to Mark’s failed attempts to accuse others.

Alan remained mostly silent as Mark and Tameka admitted they didn’t trust each other, and this actually helped him. He managed to appear less involved without effort, and soon his progress began to rapidly improve, as he regained his confidence.

Having moved past his deception of Paloma, Alan revealed to Jonathan and Cat that he wanted those loyal to her to be terrified. He then decisively finalized the plan to eliminate Tom.

Alan’s stance is poles apart from his attitude among the group at large.

Clare and Ruth mentioned how surprising it would be for him to kill Paloma, and it was a surprise, but it seemed like they were just bringing up the idea rather than seriously suggesting it.

Alan’s denial seemed believable enough, and though Clare remained skeptical, the others didn’t have enough reason to suspect him of betrayal – not for the time being.

Alan’s quiet way of speaking was strikingly different from his shockingly violent actions against famous people. We quickly learned he regretted Clare winning the competition!

Taking a page from Charlotte’s playbook on *The Traitors* – specifically how she eliminated Minah – Alan admitted he’d readily betray another traitor to protect himself. It’s unclear if Jonathan will be the one to suffer the consequences of this strategy.

Jonathan angered Ruth and Clare by seemingly betraying Niko, who had been exiled. Because of this, accusing Jonathan wouldn’t immediately lead people to suspect Alan.

Alan still often lacks tact at important times. For example, when Tom wasn’t around, he overreacted by putting his hand to his mouth and laughing, which was inappropriate.

Because there were so many people present, no one noticed what Alan was doing. As long as the problematic behavior continues, he’s managing to avoid consequences, and his responses seem consistent with his usual personality.

In fact, they’re even acting as the perfect deflection.

I couldn’t believe the news about Tom, and seeing Alan’s reaction was… something. Instead of seeming genuinely shocked, he played it off like he had no idea what was going on, pretending to be completely out of the loop. He even joked, ‘Who would get rid of an Olympian?’ It just felt…off, you know? Like he was deliberately trying to appear clueless rather than actually being upset.

He’s famous for his hilarious, memorable lines. People still quote things like, “You’re not gonna drown, Tameka,” and his playful jab at Celia – “I only voted for you because of the fart!”

Celia’s vote, delivered with a playful jab suggesting self-reflection, could have made Alan appear untrustworthy. However, his quick and humorous response saved the moment, creating a truly memorable television moment.

Okay, so when it came to challenges, Alan was all about the team. Honestly, no one ever doubted *why* he was suggesting who we should let go from Claudia’s cabin – he clearly had a plan to help us win the money, and he wasn’t shy about sharing it.

I have to say, Cat’s been pretty quiet, but Alan really grabs your attention. He’s done so much already, and there’s always this feeling he’s about to be found out, which is part of the excitement! Plus, he became a total star up in that iconic turret so quickly – it’s amazing!

Anything can happen on *The Celebrity Traitors* as the show goes on, but right now, Alan is really excelling. He’s completely turned things around, going from a terrible recruit to the most skilled traitor of the three.

The Celebrity Traitors is on BBC1 tonight (Thursday) at 9pm and on BBC iPlayer.
