He became a TV sensation during his stint on Celebrity Traitors last year.
Alan Carr is expected to keep up his recent success in 2026, with fans already calling one of his early-year TV appearances a standout moment – and it’s only been a week into the new year!
A clip of comedian, 49, tumbling headfirst down a waterslide on his new BBC DIY show with Amanda Holden has gone viral, leaving viewers laughing.
The funny scene happened when the two friends went to a waterpark while working on renovating a house they were fixing up in Greece.
Amanda convinced Alan to try a slide named ‘The Black Hole,’ playfully warning him that it was completely dark and he wouldn’t be able to see a thing. Alan responded with a worried, ‘That sounds terrible!’
I watched, completely hooked, as he decided to try it! He playfully told the lifeguard, ‘Wish me luck!’ before bravely sliding into the long water slide, comfortably nestled in a big inflatable tube. It was a funny and exciting moment!

The crowd immediately burst into laughter as the performer, clearly panicked, screamed and stumbled around the ring.
Oh my gosh, it happened so fast! Our Chatty Man – he was just launched out of that giant inflatable thing, completely flipped over! He came flying out of the tunnel, and Amanda was just losing it, laughing hysterically. It was the most amazing, chaotic thing I’ve ever seen! I seriously couldn’t breathe I was laughing so hard.
Alan was upset and exclaimed, ‘I fell out! It made me fall out!’ as his friend wrapped him in a towel and tried to help him feel better.
The comedian stated firmly that he was finished performing, explaining, ‘I can’t continue – it threw me around and I hurt my face!’
I was absolutely losing it when I saw that clip of Alan Carr! It spread like wildfire online – everyone on TikTok and X was saying it was already the funniest TV moment of the year, and honestly, it’s only January 5th! He fell right out of the rubber ring on the water slide, and it was just pure comedy gold. I can’t see anything topping that all year!
This is just the newest in a series of popular moments for the star, who quickly became a national favorite after appearing on the hit show, Celebrity Traitors, a few months back.
In the premiere of the celebrity version of the BBC show, Claudia Winkleman surprisingly chose Alan as the Traitor.
He jokingly blamed his discomfort on excessive sweating, openly mocked those who were punished, and couldn’t even pretend to be sincere. It was clear he wouldn’t be able to maintain a convincing facade for much longer.

I was absolutely thrilled to watch Alan win in the final episode! It was so tense, but he really pulled it off and secured a fantastic £87,000 for his charity. And can you believe over 12 million of us were watching to see it happen?
He created many memorable moments on The Traitor, becoming a source of popular memes. His clever lines and unforgettable reactions will likely be remembered for a long time.
A funny camera angle of Alan Carr in his cloak during the first episode of his new show went viral online, causing a huge reaction from fans.
The comedian, wearing his trademark thick-framed glasses, was caught on camera quietly making his way through the castle with a lantern.
People quickly began sharing the funny picture of Alan and adding their own captions, creating stories to match the photo originally posted by the BBC.
One person joked about sneaking out for a late-night snack, while another related to the struggle of remembering to put the recycling out on collection day at 6 AM.
One person commented, ‘Waking your mom at 7am because you suddenly realize you need stuff for school and your gym clothes washed, all with only 20 minutes to spare!’

2026 promises a big comeback for Alan Carr. He’s lined up to host a new competition series on Channel 4 with Susie Dent, appear on Amazon Prime’s LOL: Last One Laughing UK, and continue working on his show with Amanda.
He’s become so popular that he’s a leading candidate to host Strictly Come Dancing, following Claudia and Tess Daly’s departure. Many believe he’s perfect for the role.
I’m hearing some buzz that Alan Carr might be back on our screens with a brand new chat show! It’s been eight years since ‘Chatty Man’ was taken off the air – sadly, it didn’t get the ratings it needed back then – but it sounds like he’s getting another chance, which is fantastic news for fans like me!
Alan is receiving a lot of attention from different networks, suggesting he’s poised to regain the level of popularity he enjoyed on television in the 2000s and 2010s.
He’s admitted he’d jump at the chance to be on Celebrity Traitors again, even jokingly suggesting he could return disguised to play the game and ‘eliminate’ someone for fun, just like before.
