Al Pacino and Diane Keaton had a long, sometimes complicated relationship that lasted from 1974 to 1990. After hearing about Keaton’s passing, Pacino publicly shared a heartfelt message. He took a few days to grieve while working on a film in Paris before doing so, as reported by Deadline.

I was so heartbroken to hear about Diane Keaton’s passing. I shared my condolences with the media last night, and it’s just a really sad time.

He went on to say that he was deeply upset when he learned the news. Diane wasn’t just a colleague; she was a close friend who had brought joy to his life and helped shape his path on many occasions.

Even though it’s been over thirty years since we last saw each other, I still remember her so clearly. Her recent passing has brought those memories back with a powerful mix of sadness and fondness.

Pacino also complimented Keaton’s vibrant personality, noting how she embraced life fully and brought a unique energy to everything she did.

He also praised her captivating presence on screen, describing her as both powerfully dynamic and incredibly gentle – a truly remarkable performer.

The star of Dog Day Afternoon explained that acting was her primary artistic outlet, but it wasn’t the only way she let her creativity shine.

The sweet message comes after Pacino was seen for the first time since the heartbreaking death.

He was seen looking downcast arriving at LAX airport with his former girlfriend, Noor Alfallah, on Monday.

According to a friend of Al Pacino, he still thinks about Diane Keaton and wishes things had worked out between them. The friend told the Daily Mail that Pacino has always regretted their breakup, and used to hope they could get back together. Sadly, the friend says, that time has now passed.

Keaton once reflected on their relationship herself, admitting Pacino was the one who got away. 

Al Pacino looked sad on Monday as he walked towards a private jet with Noor, the mother of his son Roman, who was born in 2023. This was his first time being seen in public since the death of the woman many considered his longtime love.

Both individuals were wearing simple black outfits, likely mirroring the serious atmosphere of the day.

According to a friend, Al now realizes the love of his life was Diane, whom he’s always described as an incredible woman, in a recent interview with the Daily Mail.

He’ll always wonder what if he’d acted when he could have. After his breakup with Diane, Al often said it was never too late to try again if a relationship was truly meant to be. Unfortunately, that time has now passed.

Despite having several romantic relationships, Al Pacino’s children have always been his top priority.

According to a source, Al loves all of his children very much. Even though he preferred living in New York, he bought a house in Los Angeles so he could see his West Coast kids more often.

He was practically invisible to her. She deeply loved and admired her mother, who single-handedly ran the household and raised their four children with incredible strength and independence.

She had a twenty-year connection with Woody Allen, but it differed from her bond with Al Pacino.

According to a source, Al had a vulnerable quality that made her feel sorry for him, like he was longing for affection. She also believed he wouldn’t try to control her, as he seemed to rely on her strength.

Diane once imagined a future with Al, including marriage and a family. However, after a long, inconsistent relationship, she felt like they either needed to commit soon or move on.
