AL Flandre: “I don’t think we’ve fully shown what we’re capable of yet”

In simpler terms, Flandre from Legends shared with Xsp his thoughts on their lanes versus Bwipo and expressed his confidence ahead of the Gen.G match.

In an exhilarating match-up, Legend (AL) triumphed over FlyQuest 3-1, displaying a blend of ingenuity and unyielding force. Following the victory, AL’s top laner Li “Flandre” Xuan-Jun had a conversation with Xpsp, where he commended Bwipo’s extensive champion roster. Flandre also touched upon his preferred Yorick character, AL’s team dynamics, and expressed optimism for their encounter with Gen.G on July 4th.

In the meantime, FlyQuest falls into the lower bracket and will compete against G2 Esports in an exciting match-up featuring North America versus Europe with high stakes at play.

Bwipo’s deep champion pool and Yorick-Trundle combination

Question: “During your last conversation, you mentioned that you were really looking forward to facing off with Bwipo. Could you share your thoughts on the matches between us and which lane did you find most challenging?

Flandre: Regarding my matchup against Bwipo, I found it challenging because I chose my top lane champions initially, which put some pressure on me since Bwipo is known for his vast champion pool. I had no clue what he was going to pick next, and I believe he attempted to counterpick me in most games due to his extensive champion pool.

In the second match, just as mentioned, you opted for a blind pick of Yorick who has recently been nerfed. This choice is somewhat uncommon at international tournaments, but it’s definitely your signature move. So, I’m curious about what factors influenced your decision to select Yorick?

Flandre: I picked Yorick because he works well with Trundle, and this choice is effective against Viktor and Vi, regardless of their top-jungler synergy. Initially, I had some concerns about Bwipo’s champion pool. I wasn’t sure what he would pick, and Mordekaiser took me by surprise. However, the primary reason for my choice was to ensure better control due to the uncertainty of Bwipo’s selection and the top-jungler synergy.

Anyone’s Legends power is yet to be revealed.

In the fourth match, you chose a powerful carry character, Ambessa. Are you more inclined towards playing with such carry champions, or do you find yourself gravitating towards the tankier characters like Sion, as seen in game three, to be more appealing?

Flandre: Regardless of the type of champions you’re working with, it’s essential to master them. It’s crucial to be versatile and ready for a variety of champions, particularly the most powerful ones in the current meta. You should have a diverse champion pool to adjust to all potential drafts, and strategize around their combos.

In our recent match, both you and Shanks played exceptionally well. Does it seem to you that the first series demonstrated to anyone unfamiliar with Anyone’s Legend, your potential skills for MSI 2025?

As a gamer stepping onto the international stage for the first time, I must admit that this is uncharted territory for us. It’s been quite some time since we last played at this level. However, it’s important to remember that many of my teammates are making their international debut here, so we’re all still finding our footing. But fear not, as we gain experience, match by match, I truly believe we will rise to the occasion and deliver performances worth looking forward to in the future.

Anyone’s Legend vs Gen.G: “Kiin is an all-rounder player.”

Who is your next opponent? Gen.G, correct? Do you think you have a chance to beat them in the upcoming series? What do you anticipate will happen?

As a gamer, I’m brimming with self-assurance, knowing that we’ve gone head-to-head in practice matches before. Kiin is an adaptable player who excels across various aspects of the game. I believe this upcoming series will hinge on teamwork; it’s all about outsmarting them with synchronized strategies and plays.

As I gear up for the thrilling MSI 2025 tournament, I’d like to express my heartfelt gratitude to all the dedicated fans of Anyone’s Legends. Your unwavering support means the world to me, and I promise to give it my all on the battlefield. Here’s a shout-out from the gamer himself: “Feel the adrenaline with me as we chase victory together! Let’s create memories that echo in the halls of gaming history!

Flandre: I’m deeply appreciative of the fans who constantly stand by us. I’m aware that numerous fans need to remain awake throughout the night or wake up early just to catch our games. For the upcoming series, we aim to perform even better, demonstrating the skills we showcased during scrims. Our goal is to deliver our best performances on stage. A huge thank you for your unwavering support!
