Akatsuki Games Incorporated has declared that their much-awaited mobile game, a role-playing title based on turn-based combat called “KAIJU NO. 8 THE GAME,” will debut on Android and iOS platforms on the 31st of August. Originally announced in June 2024 for both mobile devices and personal computers, pre-registration for this game inspired by a popular anime is now available.

If you’re not well-versed with Kaiju No. 8, it’s a Japanese manga penned by Naoya Matsumoto, which was later published online on Shōnen Jump+. The story revolves around Kafka Hibino, an ordinary individual who unexpectedly transforms into a Kaiju – the very creature he vowed to hunt alongside his childhood friend when they were kids.

I absolutely adored the first season of the anime, and with season 2 set to release in July, my excitement has only grown. It seems like an ideal moment for the game to debut as well. In terms of gameplay, you’ll find a strategic, turn-based combat system where you can select the abilities of your Defense Force’s officers to target the cores of Kaijus.

The game appears incredibly engaging, boasting breathtaking visuals, captivating abilities, unique storylines penned originally, a star-studded voice cast, and much more. I can hardly contain my enthusiasm to encounter characters like Kafka, Mina Ashiro, Soshiro Hoshina, among others. I’m also eager to test out Kafka’s signature blows, the mighty ax attacks of Kikoru, and other features.
