Aisling Bea recalls the horrifying moment she watched her shoulder dislocate from her arm
Aisling Bea has recalled the moment she watched her shoulder dislocate from her arm.
The forty-year-old actress was unaware of how serious her wound was and endured agonizing migraines for a span of three years, eventually needing reconstructive surgery to address the issue.
On Wednesday, Aisling made an appearance on Chris Evans’ Breakfast Show on Virgin Radio, alongside The National Lottery. During this broadcast, she discussed a recent unfortunate incident while promoting her latest movie, “Get Away”.
She mentioned that her team handles all the action sequences. Regarding her stunt career, she shared an experience where she was felled during the pandemic period, suffering a severe shoulder injury. Initially, she believed it was on the mend, but for approximately three years, she endured persistent and debilitating migraines.
Last night, I attended a screening, but unfortunately, during the shooting, my shoulder dislocated from my arm.
‘It was like getting weaker and weaker and I was getting way more migraines while we were filming.
However, last night, we attended a movie screening at the cinema, and for a moment, it didn’t feel like I was looking into the character’s eyes anymore.
In that instant, the realization that things weren’t right became evident on my face, with merely a slight lift of an arm. This minor movement led to the necessity of having a shoulder reconstruction.
Aisling explained: ‘They performed a shoulder reconstruction on me, but it failed because I became pregnant right away without realizing it. However, they removed the screw during my pregnancy. It’s just like a tiny IKEA screw that I now have in my kitchen and my baby uses as a rattle inside a test tube.’
Aisling also spoke about her five-month-old daughter, tipping her to be a ‘big star’.
In August, the actress welcomed her first child with her boyfriend Jack Freeman.
She mentioned that her partner is quite musical, filling their home with tunes. Interestingly, this environment seems to be benefiting the baby greatly as it’s started singing on its own now.
It seems we’ve turned into complete dotes. I believe she yearns for bedtime so much as she’s grown tired of us, since we’re constantly serenading her with “Mama, I love you”. She’s started mimicking our songs herself. I have a feeling she’ll grow up to be quite the star.
The actress stars alongside Nick Frost in the film Get Away.
In this production, Richard and Susan Smith portray a married couple, while their on-screen children, Jessie and Sam, are played by Maisie Ayres and Sebastian Croft respectively.
As a devoted enthusiast, I’d like to share that a delightful slasher comedy, penned by none other than Nick, was both written and skillfully directed by Steffen Haars. This captivating tale takes us on an unforgettable journey as the Smith family embarks on a holiday to the quaint Swedish island of Svälta.
Despite being warned not to go near the island under any circumstances, particularly during the Karantan festival, that’s exactly when they plan to visit it.
Despite choosing to travel by ferry to the island, the family encounters unfriendly and impolite locals, whose behavior seems unusually aggressive, hinting at potential trouble ahead.
Last month, the film made its theater debut in both the U.S. and Canada. Starting from January 10th, it can be watched by viewers in the UK via Sky Cinema.
