Airline’s Jane Boulton left red-faced as iconic no-nonsense easyJet star admits she’s missed her own flight for the very first time
As a seasoned lifestyle advisor, I must confess that even someone like me, the no-nonsense former airline check-in manager, Jane Boulton, recently found myself in an embarrassing predicament. This week, I unfortunately missed my very own flight!
In the early 2000s, Jane gained widespread recognition when TV cameras documented her and her fellow easyJet employees managing the daily tasks at their bustling budget airline.
In London Luton, Boulton earned a reputation for her quick-wittedness and somewhat unsympathetic attitude towards passengers who were late for their flights.
It seems that the ex-airline employee turned popular social media figure experienced a turn of events, as she admitted to missing her flight – an occurrence she had never encountered before.
On a post to Instagram on Friday, she shared: “Had an interview with Lewis Nicholls yesterday, and here’s something new – I arrived late! For the very first time in my life, I found it challenging.
On our journey to Gatwick, we encountered a terrible traffic jam due to an accident. We had to exit the motorway and join the queue for the Gatwick exit, which took about an hour to travel that distance.

Jane mentioned that her typical commute, which usually lasts 40 minutes, extended to an astonishing two hours as she hurried to board her plane.
I exclaimed, “By a mere minute?!” Yet, despite my polite demeanor, she firmly declined my plea for leniency.
Instead of catching our small Eastern Airways flight, we ended up booking tickets for the train. As a result, we were supposed to arrive here by 10:00 AM yesterday but actually made it around 3:00 PM instead.
Now I understand what many people are experiencing, and it seems reasonable to assume that quite a few of them might be reflecting on the concept of ‘what goes around comes around.’
The mother of three disclosed that she is currently residing at the charming Cornwall Hotel and Spa during her visit to the bustling tourist destination.
Fans flooded Jane with comments, with many repeating her iconic phrases from Airline back to here.
One wrote: ‘Well I’m sorry but a coffee shop does not look like departures (love you Jane).’
A second posted: ‘Jane, it’s a plane not a bus, much love as always though.’

‘It is easy if you get here on time as Jane Boulton once told a customer,’ joked a third follower.
While a fourth penned: ‘A coffee shop is not departures!’
Jane, currently residing in South London as a wife and mother of three, has faced turbulent situations involving upset travelers, and she’s previously disclosed behind-the-scenes information about the airline industry.
She no longer works in the airline industry and quit the business in 2014.
She now runs her own company called Party Paradise UK.
In 2006, the series concluded, but Jane mentioned that she continues to maintain contact with her fellow actors, Leo Jones and Katrina Leeder.
Jane has now gone viral TikTok with clips of her comeback from the show still being sent around.
The videos have been viewed more than 26 million times.
