Aimee Lou Wood’s BBC show gets confirmed for season 2

As a die-hard fan of gripping comedies that touch the heart with their raw, relatable characters and witty humor, I couldn’t be more thrilled about the renewal of Aimee Lou Wood’s BBC comedy gem, “Daddy Issues.” Having grown up with a dad who was as hapless as Malcolm (played brilliantly by David Morrissey), I find this show to be an absolute delight.

Daddy Issues spoilers follow.

Sex Education star Aimee Lou Wood’s BBC comedy Daddy Issues has been renewed for a second season.

As a gaming enthusiast, I’ve stumbled upon an engrossing series penned by Danielle Ward, the genius behind Brassic. This captivating tale revolves around me and my not-so-lucky father Malcolm (played by David Morrissey), who finds himself sharing a roof with me after I reveal some life-changing news – I’m expecting a baby!

After debuting last month, the show “Daddy Issues” garnered extensive praise and marked BBC Three’s largest launch since early 2022.

In the upcoming second season, we’ll delve into the fresh family setup between Gemma and Malcolm following the birth of their daughter, Sadie, as the season one finale concluded.

She confidently believes that whatever is coming will be both laugh-out-loud funny and heartwarming.

The show’s creator, Ward, was equally ecstatic about its renewal, sharing her delight with the news in these words: “Another season? Discovering it from a press release? Incredible! I can hardly wait to write for Aimee and David (and the rest of this extraordinary cast) once more.

“I’m really fond of the Moscrips and I’m eagerly anticipating more of their exciting tales. A brief pause would be good, but I’m sure my hair will regrow eventually.

As a devoted admirer, I couldn’t be more thrilled to announce my involvement in another installment of “Daddy Issues”. Collaborating with the brilliant Aimee was an absolute dream, and Danielle’s writing never fails to make me laugh while tugging at my heartstrings. I can hardly wait!
