Ahsoka season 2 prepares to begin filming in the UK in 2025
As a die-hard Star Wars fan who has grown up watching these epic tales unfold, I can hardly contain my excitement as Ahsoka prepares to start filming its second season overseas in the UK! Having binge-watched the first season multiple times, I can’t wait to see where the story takes our beloved character, Ahsoka Tano, portrayed brilliantly by Rosario Dawson.
With “Skeleton Crew” now streaming and “Andor” set for an April release, preparations are underway for the next live-action Star Wars series to start filming. The second season of “Ahsoka” is gearing up for production, but unlike its previous seasons, this one will be filmed in the UK. As reported by Indiewire, the shift is from Los Angeles to the United Kingdom. Filming for this season is scheduled to begin in April 2025, though this date may change.
Ahsoka joins the Star Wars projects to film in the United Kingdom
The character Ahsoka debuted during the summer of 2023, and its initial season was shot in Los Angeles. This Star Wars series now shares the list with Skeleton Crew, The Mandalorian, and Obi-Wan Kenobi that were all filmed within the LA landscape. However, it’s important to note that Lucasfilm has previously worked on projects in the UK as well. George Lucas often chose to film outside of the U.S., and apart from Africa where parts of A New Hope were shot, numerous other locations in Europe have been filmed too.
In addition to Star Wars: The Mandalorian, filmed primarily in California’s The Volume studio, other UK-produced Star Wars series include The Acolyte and the initial season of Andor. Unlike The Mandalorian, neither of these shows utilized The Volume’s location filming technology, which gained prominence during the first season of The Mandalorian.
Parts of “Star Wars: The Force Awakens”, “The Last Jedi”, and “The Rise of Skywalker” as well as “Andor” were all shot at Pinewood Studios in the UK. This location lends a greater sense of realism to these productions.
Ahoska is scheduled for release around 2026. This year promises to be significant for the franchise, as another movie, titled The Mandalorian and Grogu, is also expected to debut in the same year.
No matter where you are, there’s a lot of excitement building up for this show. Its first season was hugely successful and adored by viewers, so it’s expected that the second season will also receive the same level of enthusiasm and eagerness.
With great excitement, Rosario Dawson, portraying Ahsoka Tano, and their team are set to begin filming in the UK, sparking eagerness among fans everywhere.
