As a Marvel fan with over two decades of comic book-inspired escapades under my belt, I can confidently say that the upcoming Disney Plus series, “Agatha All Along“, has me utterly spellbound! The tantalizing trailers have only whetted my appetite for this bewitching journey through the Multiverse Saga.

Marvel Studios initiated the Multiverse Saga by debuting its first Disney Plus series: “WandaVision.” This widely praised showcrafted Wanda Maximoff into the Scarlet Witch, paving the way for her journey across the multiverse. The show’s significance as a standalone production and as part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe franchise was evident, and its triumph gave rise to the spinoff series “Agatha All Along.”

In a nutshell, Agatha Harkness, Kathryn Hahn’s enigmatic witchy antagonist, is set to reemerge with her powers in the forthcoming Disney Plus series. However, there remains much that is unclear regarding this show, such as its narrative and its role within the Multiverse Saga. Based on the previews, it promises an exhilarating adventure that delves into the heart of the storyline.

As the debut draws near, a fresh trailer offers a sneak peek at the plot and some intriguing, oddball characters that will appear along The Witch’s Pathway in the upcoming series.

Agatha All Along and its “delightful group” of witches

As a gaming enthusiast, I’m thrilled to share that Marvel Studios has dropped a sneak peek into the upcoming series titled “Agatha All Along.” This featurette offers a glimpse into the fascinating characters that will grace our screens. It also includes intriguing interviews with several cast members who generously share their insights on their roles, giving us an idea of what to anticipate from them in the show.

Kathryn Hahn delves into Agatha’s backstory in the new series, emphasizing that the witch suffered a loss of her powers following an unfavorable confrontation with Scarlet Witch in WandaVision. Despite this, the upcoming spinoff will reveal how deeply unpopular Agatha has always been, as she must enlist the aid of individuals who are not exactly fond of her to navigate the Witches’ Road and restore her powers.

As a captivated fan, I can’t help but express my excitement over one of the witches I’ll be encountering – Alice Wu-Gulliver. This remarkable woman is a protection witch who, as Ali Ahn suggests, has been slowly reawakening powers that have lain dormant for quite some time. The footage hints at her extraordinary abilities, showcasing a possible confrontation where she appears to vanquish a dreadful demon we come across on the Witches’ Road.

In the bonus segment, we encounter Jennifer Kale, played by Sasheer Zamata. This character’s magic is based on “chemistry and alchemy”, as the lead actor explains. Moreover, she stands out among the group for her biting sarcasm, hinting that she will adopt a straightforward attitude when confronting Agatha and her plots. Hahn even suggests that there’s a complex dynamic between them, describing their relationship as having elements of both love and hate.

The brief segment further discloses the means by which Mrs. Hart re-enters the storyline in WandaVision, suggesting she might be a green witch or merely taking on that role. Agatha invites her to join their coven, explaining it’s for a party, hinting at this ambiguity. Actress Debra Jo Rupp returns to play Mrs. Hart and describes the witches gathered by Agatha as “simply bizarre individuals.” Frankly, that sounds fascinating.

Among all the characters, Lilia Calderau, portrayed by the extraordinary Patti LuPone, stands out as unique (in a delightful way). Executive producer Jac Schaeffer labels her as “a bit eccentric” and LuPone herself shares that she has “brief glimpses of strange sights or visions.” This character excels in “divination” and is expected to add an intriguing dimension to the show. Let’s not forget, it’s Patti LuPone we’re talking about!

The wild card in all of this might just be Rio Vidal. Portrayed by Aubrey Plaza, we first met the character in the first trailer for Agatha All Along, when she told Agatha to claw her way out of the Agnes personality that Wanda had left her trapped in. Here, she is seen literally rising from the grave as she claws her own way out of the ground, with Plaza telling viewers that the rest of the group think she’s “some kind of badass”.

Regardless of the specific part Rio Vidal takes on in future episodes, there’s no doubt she will make a significant impact on the series. Whether she continues in a similar role as Agatha or not is yet to be determined, but given their confrontation in the initial trailer, it seems plausible that Rio may become an adversary within the show.

And let’s not forget about Joe Locke’s mysterious character. Although he isn’t featured much in this particular featurette, a recent teaser revealed that the character known as “Teen” can’t actually reveal his real name to Agatha due to some kind of magic. So, no doubt that will come into play throughout the nine-episode run. And given the rumors about his true identity, we expect it to play a major role indeed.

In just a short while, the delightful series “Agatha All Along” will be appearing on our screens. With a bit more information about the characters that will be featured, we’re eagerly waiting for its debut!

Agatha’s new show, “Agatha All Along,” is set to debut on Disney Plus on Wednesday, September 18th. The first two episodes will air simultaneously at 9:00 p.m. Eastern Time and 6:00 p.m. Pacific Time.
