Under Jeremiah Zagar’s direction, the movie “Hustle” gained positive acclaim upon its debut and quickly became a favorite among Netflix subscribers. One aspect that sets the film apart is its understated portrayal by Adam Sandler, which is unusual for him. Additionally, the movie can be seen as an extension of Sandler’s personal passion for basketball.

Should this sequel materialize, it would undoubtedly captivate audiences once more with its authentic portrayal of the NBA landscape.

Should the initial movie be reminiscent of Martin Scorsese’s masterpiece, “Raging Bull,” a potential sequel might draw influences from another renowned sports movie, “Hoosiers.” The idea of Adam Sandler portraying a coach in a realistic film, thus emulating actors like Gene Hackman and Denzel Washington, is an exciting prospect. Regrettably, I have more faith in the likelihood of a “Billy Madison” sequel than one for “Hustle.” Nonetheless, I remain optimistic that this promising Sandler project might get a continuation.

People with Netflix subscriptions should definitely take some time to watch “Hustle” right away. For die-hard Adam Sandler fans, it could turn into an enjoyable sports movie night by streaming both “Happy Gilmore 2” and its original version on the platform as well.
