After Denise Richards Alleges Physical Abuse Claims Against Ex, He Responded By Accusing Her Of Substance Abuse And Putting Their Daughter In Danger
Denise Richards, formerly a cast member of “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills,” briefly came back to the series in 2024 but later expanded her reality TV presence with Bravo’s “Wild Things” series in 2025 and a brief stint on “Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test.” However, her personal life has been as dramatic as her on-screen roles. In the turbulent journey towards divorcing her husband of almost seven years, Aaron Phypers, he countered her recent restraining order filing with shocking allegations of substance abuse and endangering their daughter.
In the recent developments of Richard’s marital saga, which once centered on her tumultuous relationship with ex-husband Charlie Sheen, took a new turn in July 2025 when Phypers initiated the divorce proceedings, stating irreconcilable differences as the cause. Shortly afterward, details about their personal life started to spill out not only from insider sources but also directly from both parties, who made serious allegations against each other.
Denise Richards Makes Various Physical Abuse Allegations In Successful Restraining Order Filing
Approximately two weeks following the submission of divorce documents, Denise Richards formally requested a restraining order against Aaron Phypers on July 16. In her petition, she outlines a variety of accusations, such as:
[Note: I’ve tried to use a more natural and conversational style while maintaining accuracy.]
During our time together, Aaron often displayed violent behavior towards me. This included choking me forcefully, grabbing my head harshly with both hands, squeezing my arms tightly, slapping me hard on the face and head, aggressively ramming my head into the bathroom towel rack, making threats to take my life, pinning me down using his knee on my back until I begged him to stop for fear of death, and intruding into my laptop and phone to access and save all my text messages.
In the paperwork, Richards claims that Phyper caused her harm in multiple instances throughout the first half of 2025, with a heated argument on July 4 serving as a trigger for their separation. Here are some additional contentious accusations made in the filing, as reported by US Weekly:
(Yet another option)
In the documentation, Richards asserts that Phyper hurt her during numerous occurrences throughout the first half of 2025. A significant event, a heated disagreement on July 4, is claimed to have led to their breakup. Here are some additional questionable claims mentioned in the filing, as reported by US Weekly:
- ““Aaron has caused me at least three concussions.”
- “Aaron repeatedly got within two inches of my face and screamed at me degrading profanities, including calling me a ‘cunt whore’ and a ‘piece of shit.'”
- “Aaron chased me and grabbed both of my arms forcefully and pushed me and dragged me to the ground. I landed on the stairs, causing immense pain.”
- “While I was asleep and without my permission, Aaron went into my settings on my laptop and through my iCloud account synched my iMessages (texts) to my laptop and downloaded everything from my iCloud (included my private text messages) onto my laptop and then took pictures of my text messages (which were then on my laptop).”
- “Later, while I was on the toilet peeing, Aaron smashed me on the top of my head with the palm of his hand while screaming at me, ‘Give me your fucking phone.'”
In the submitted documents, Denise Richards provided two images showing her left eye swollen and discolored. She asserted that an incident occurred on January 17 where Aaron Phypers allegedly hit her in the face, causing the injury.
In my perspective as a moviegoer, while Philippers vigorously refutes the allegations presented in the temporary restraining order petition, the court has, for now, sided with Richard’s plea. However, a court hearing set for July may potentially overturn this decision.
Aaron Phypers Claims Richards ‘Conjured Up’ Untrue Allegations And Makes His Own Accusations
In an apparently private correspondence, later acquired by Page Six, Phypers airs several concerning claims about Richards, alleging instances of substance misuse. To quote him directly:
“In a letter meant for family and close companions, I’ve detailed a series of troubling incidents involving Richards, which I believe are due to her struggling with substance abuse.
For approximately ten years, she has battled a dependency on Vicodin, humorously referred to as ‘Vitamin D’ or ‘white chestnuts’, combined with Adderall and tequila. Some of you are aware that this problem has persisted for over two decades. She no longer consumes regular meals, and I have personally seen her lose consciousness due to substances – a situation that endangers not only herself but also others, even while driving with our child.
In a bid to reframe some of Richard’s allegations, Phyper mentions his daughter once more, implying that it was actually her who overstepped boundaries on the Fourth of July, and that she was the one who damaged his phone.
On the 4th of July, an ordinary task – arranging food for our daughter Eloise – resulted in an astonishing revelation. My wife Denise accused me of using her credit card, and amidst the chaos, my phone got lost. After a prolonged search of more than 20 hours and enduring a physical assault when I asked for it back, I eventually found it destroyed within a trash bag, concealed beneath decaying waste and debris. When I enquired about this, she denied it entirely. That very evening, she texted me stating her intention to file for divorce.
It’s uncertain how Phypers would have gotten the text if his phone got damaged, and it’s puzzling as to why he filed for divorce when she claimed she would be the one doing so. However, he maintains that he has never physically hurt or harmed Richards. He further adds:
It remains ambiguous as to how Phypers could have obtained the text message if his phone was destroyed. Moreover, it is perplexing why he initiated the divorce proceedings when she asserted that she intended to do so. Nevertheless, he asserts that he has never engaged in any form of physical violence or harm against Richards.
It’s a mystery how Phypers would’ve got the text if his phone blew up, and it’s weird that he filed for divorce when she said she’d be the one doing it. But he insists he’s never laid a hand on or harmed Richards.
It’s not clear how Phypers would’ve got the text if his phone went kaboom, and it’s strange that he filed for divorce when she said she was gonna do it. But he swears he’s never touched or hurt Richards.
I’ve always intervened with the intention of shielding her, as well as others, such as preventing her from physically harming her own daughter. My actions have always stemmed from a deep sense of compassion and worry for their well-being.
It appears he didn’t elaborate on the methods used by Richards when assaulting their daughter. However, he asserted that he discovered an Airtag in his vehicle, implying he might have been trailed or monitored, and alleges that his older parents have been distressed and mistreated because they have stood by their son during the relationship.

Denise Richards Defended Her Much Criticized James Bond Role With The Perfect Clapback
According to Physicians, the picture showing Denise Richards with a black eye was taken in the winter of 2022. He claims she got drunk and accidentally fell down the steps of his open clinic Q360, causing her to hit her face. The clinic has since been shut down.
Currently, Richard has not provided a response to all that her ex allegedly stated in the letter he wrote to others. However, should a response arise, it is expected that she won’t hold back in any way.
