AFL WAG Lexi Mary shares candid confession about first date with her Western Bulldogs fiancé Rory Lobb

AFL WAG Lexi Mary has opened up about how she first met Western Bulldogs player Rory Lobb.

Lexi filmed a candid TikTok video while she got ready to go out, telling her 14,000 followers that Rory ‘gave her nothing’ on their first date. 

An advertising exec shared that she had intended to hide her relationship at first because of an unforeseen complication: her stepfather held the top position at the Fremantle Dockers, being their CEO.

During that period, Lexi was fresh out of a four-year long romance when she got a private message from Rory, aged 31.

After three heart-wrenching days following our painful separation, I realized I had been wallowing in misery for far too long. It was time to take a stand and respond to the Bulldogs’ resilient ruckman, who had been a source of strength and inspiration for me during our relationship.

While showing a video of herself applying makeup, Lexi posted a snapshot on social media of their initial message conversation – the moment she answered his direct message for the very first time, leading to their eventual engagement.

On April 12, 2019, Rory asked, “How is it going?” In response, Lexi wrote back on the following day with a simple, “It’s magical.”

After going on a date together, the couple didn’t find themselves deeply engaged in conversation with each other at that moment, as Lexi acknowledged that Rory wasn’t particularly talkative. Nevertheless, their connection continued to strengthen over the passing years. Five years later, they found themselves ready to take their relationship to the next level and became engaged.

The lovebirds announced their wedding date and shared plans for their nuptials with us.

Last year around the holiday season, an AFL athlete proposed to social media sensation Lexi while they were both in the Maldives. He got down on one knee to ask the important question.

The affectionate pair is currently engaged in organizing their wedding and announced that they will exchange vows in February 2025.

Lexi shared that they plan for a small, heartfelt wedding with only their nearest and dearest present.

Following their “I do’s,” the newlywed couple intends to travel to the Maldives, where they became engaged, for a sunny getaway with their beloved family and friends.

I can’t help but feel excited about our upcoming small wedding. I don’t want the day to ever feel like a burden or a chore, so we’re keeping it cozy and intimate.

‘And then we’ll head to the Maldives later with family and friends,’ she added.
