AFL WAG Kellie Finlayson reveals new heartbreaking health condition as she battles terminal cancer

As a lifestyle expert, I find Kellie Finlayson‘s story both heartbreaking and inspiring. Her resilience in the face of such adversity is truly commendable. At just 28 years old, she has been diagnosed with stage 4 bowel and lung cancer – a disease that many mistakenly believe affects only the elderly. Kellie, however, was young, fit, and seemingly healthy, yet cancer still found its way into her life.

Kellie Finlayson openly shared her devastating revelation, as she perseveres through stage 4 bowel and lung cancer.

28-year-old partner of an AFL player publicly disclosed that she’s dealing with post-traumatic stress disorder due to the heavy emotional impact of her prolonged therapy sessions.

Kellie shared with the Herald Sun that she used to underestimate PTSD, but now that she’s going through it herself, she feels anxious just thinking about receiving treatment.

These harsh treatments are leaving me feeling significantly more unwell. Despite being on chemotherapy, the extensive regimen has really taken its toll on me.

Kellie declared her dedication to educating people about this harsh illness, as well as clarifying some prevalent misunderstandings related to it.

‘People often discuss bowel cancer as a condition that primarily affects the elderly, but this isn’t always true. For instance, one woman shared her story: ‘I was young, in peak physical condition, running marathons, epitomizing good health,’ she stated.’

‘Yet, the cancer still managed to affect me and get me when I least expected it.’

On Nova’s Head Game podcast, I recently shared with Ant Middleton that I don’t wish for my life to be confined or categorized solely by my health condition.

Kellie expressed, “If I’m still here, I might as well seize the day. Time is loaned to me; I should make every moment count.

Kellie, wife of Jeremy Finlayson from Port Adelaide, who is similarly 28 years old, expressed that she felt proud of surviving cancer and made a point not to confront each day with the challenges and effects of her illness.

In August, the pair announced that they were putting their home up for sale, as they aimed to purchase a new residence that would accommodate Kellie’s in-home care needs.

As a lifestyle advocate, I found myself grappling with the challenges of battling both bowel and lung cancer, which I was diagnosed with in November 2021, shortly after the arrival of our precious daughter Sophia.

After her stage 3 diagnosis worsened to stage 4, she went through multiple operations and chemotherapy treatments.

In July, she unfortunately announced that she would need to restart chemotherapy as a means to swiftly control her cancer, which had resurfaced following her decision to discontinue both chemotherapy and radiation treatment in favor of more organic and non-traditional remedies.
