As an ardent follower and supporter of AFL, I couldn’t be more thrilled for Harry Himmelberg and his wife Taylia Sarris! After two heart-wrenching miscarriages, their journey to parenthood has been filled with trials and tribulations. But their perseverance and resilience have paid off, as they welcomed their beautiful daughter Hazel Olive into the world on December 12.

Harry Himmelberg and his spouse, Taylia Sarris, are now proud parents following the arrival of their long-awaited first child, having endured two distressing pregnancy losses previously.

30-year-old AFL star and his partner, Taylia, posted on Instagram on a Wednesday, announcing that their newborn daughter was born on December 12th.

They shared a collection of sweet images and clips featuring their freshly-born baby girl, snuggling with her at the hospital following her delivery.

In one picture, the Greater Western Sydney Giants footballer looked every inch the doting father as he cradled the little one in his arms.

In some other frames, Harry was seen nestled close to Taylia, who gleamed from one ear to another while cradling their little girl.

In a caption, the couple announced the adorable name they have given their daughter – Hazel Olive.

Confirming her date of birth, they simply penned: ‘12.12.24 Hazel Olive Himmelberg.’

The joyful announcement from them about their family expansion arrives merely weeks following their quiet wedding in Melbourne, which took place in October.

In the heartwarming scene of their magical day, I had the privilege to bear witness alongside Harry’s cherished ex-teammate and present Tigers midfielder, Tim Taranto, along with his lovely partner Tash Hoole, as they pledged their eternal love vows at the altar.

The newlyweds then continued their celebrations at the upscale restaurant Entrecôte in Prahran.

In 2025, they intend to host a grand celebration involving their family, friends, and infant child, inviting everyone to join the festivities.

Last year, the couple became engaged as Harry knelt on one knee in the rainy city of Paris, with the Eiffel Tower serving as an enchanting backdrop while he proposed his question.

Since becoming engaged, the couple has faced many challenges, having endured two painful miscarriages prior to the arrival of their precious little girl.

As a lifestyle expert, I myself, Leticia, have shared candidly about my recent experiences with pregnancy loss.

She shared with the Herald Sun that she felt worried prior to the birth of her daughter, following her heartbreaking miscarriages.

She remarked, “The entire ordeal is quite unsettling, but once she’s delivered and we can cradle her in our arms, I don’t believe the apprehension will dissipate, as one can never predict the unexpected.

Harry mentioned that the strong social disapproval associated with miscarriage remains prevalent, but learning from doctors that it’s a relatively frequent occurrence helped alleviate their distress during this painful experience.

He mentioned, “It was challenging for you, perhaps due to it feeling unusual or causing anxiety. But remember, there are countless others in even more difficult situations, and the ability to conceive is indeed a privilege.

Approximately 20% of women may experience a miscarriage before the 20th week of pregnancy, as suggested by data from the Australian Royal Women’s Hospital.

It’s possible the total count could be greater, considering women who unknowingly experience a miscarriage are included in this figure.

In June, Taylia and Harry revealed on Instagram that they were expecting, posting a touching video showing how their two dogs unveiled the baby’s gender by consuming a custom-made cake with pink frosting hidden within.

‘Two becomes three,’ Taylia captioned the video, which also featured a snapshot of an ultrasound.
