AFL star Harry Himmelberg and his fiancée Taylia Sarris reveal they suffered two heartbreaking miscarriages before falling pregnant

Their story is a poignant reminder that parenthood is a rollercoaster ride, filled with joyous moments and heart-wrenching trials. Harry Himmelberg, an AFL star, along with his partner, Taylia Sarris, disclosed that they experienced two heartbreaking miscarriages prior to welcoming their first child, a baby girl, expected on Christmas Day.

28-year-old GWS Giants defender expressed that discussions surrounding miscarriages are not frequent enough, leaving many couples unaware of its commonality.

Shortly after their engagement in Paris last October, the couple had intended to start their parenting journey right away; unfortunately, Sarris experienced two miscarriages, one of which occurred before her present pregnancy.

Taylia, a content creator and fashion stylist, expressed her apprehension to the Herald Sun regarding the upcoming birth of her child.

She expressed that the entire process is quite terrifying, but once she’s delivered and we can finally cradle her, I don’t believe my apprehension will lessen as there’s always uncertainty about what might occur.

As a devoted follower, I shared with a publication that the lingering stigma surrounding miscarriages remains significant. Hearing from medical professionals that it’s relatively prevalent provided comfort during an extremely difficult period.

He mentioned, “It was challenging for you because it seemed unusual or caused distress. Keep in mind there are individuals facing far greater struggles, and conceiving a child is indeed a privilege.

Approximately 20% of pregnancies may end in miscarriage before the 20th week, as reported by the Australian Royal Women’s Hospital. However, it’s possible that the true number is even higher, taking into account women who experience a miscarriage unaware that they were pregnant.

The couple have now set their wedding date for October, prior to the arrival of their little girl. 

Taylia shared with a newspaper that they intend to secretly get married, or run away together, at the courthouse in Melbourne next month.

She is currently 27 weeks pregnant.  

She mentioned that they would hold a celebration with their friends, family, and daughter next year once everything has been sorted out.

Three months back, Taylia and Harry unveiled her pregnancy news on Instagram by posting an emotional video. The video showcased a creative gender reveal where their two pets were given a custom-made cake to eat. To everyone’s delight, pink icing was found inside, signifying the baby is going to be a girl.

With delight, the football player couldn’t help but break into a broad smile upon discovering that he was going to become a dad to a little girl. He affectionately hugged and kissed Taylia on their living room couch at home.

Overwhelmed by her feelings, the woman with dark hair burst into tears and fell gratefully into his embrace, finding both comfort and happiness there.

‘Two becomes three,’ she captioned the video, which also featured a snapshot of an ultrasound.
