AFL star Dale ‘Daisy’ Thomas reveals he’s ‘disappointed’ at being dropped from Triple M breakfast gig: ‘I’m not too proud to say that’
As a fervent fan of Dale ‘Daisy’ Thomas, I can’t help but feel a twinge of melancholy at the news of his departure from the Triple M breakfast shift. The man was a breath of fresh air, a beacon of positivity, and a true embodiment of the spirit of Melbourne. His temporary stint with Wil Anderson and Rosie Walton was nothing short of magical, a testament to their quick wit, camaraderie, and shared love for the city we all adore.
Previously acclaimed AFL player Dale ‘Daisy’ Thomas confessed his feelings of dissatisfaction upon learning he wasn’t selected for the hosting role at Triple M.
As a lifestyle connoisseur looking back on events, I assumed the role previously held by Marty Sheargold in the Melbourne breakfast shift following his departure in July. Now, I find myself partnered with Wil Anderson and Rosie Walton as we embark on this new journey together.
The group of three was assembled just a week ago, following Marty’s sudden exit. This information has been shared.
Daisy and Wil’s brief stint managing the breakfast duty has concluded, as Mick Molloy, Titus O’Reily, Nick Riewoldt, and Rosie are now in charge for the shift.
This week on Instagram, Daisy shared that he felt let down because he wasn’t given a chance to extend his term in office.
He shared a photo that showed the former Collingwood star in the studio with Wil and Rosie.
Commenting on the image, he was quick to thank his radio colleagues and listeners.
He expressed his satisfaction, saying, “That’s it then. I am beyond proud of the incredible creation we managed to build when we were unexpectedly brought together for the enchanting realm of morning radio within just a week.
‘Although I’m a bit disheartened not to have been selected for another year, I understand it’s all part of the process. Just like everyone else, I’ll be listening to Mick in the Mornings starting from January 2020.’
Daisy also offered a heartfelt thanks to everyone ‘behind the scenes.’
To everyone working backstage, this performance wouldn’t be the same without your contribution, and I want to express my gratitude to Jay specifically, for giving us a chance and standing by our side throughout,” was his message.
As an ardent admirer, I’ve got to say, Tegan, you’re a shining star! You nail those superb productions with the incredible guest lineups, and the wealth of knowledge you share about guests and topics just never ceases to amaze. Even if there’s the odd spelling mistake or two, and your delicious baked goods are simply irresistible, you continue to light up my day!
Following heartfelt thanks to Wil, Rosie, and now Triple M and its audience, Daisy concluded with her own gratitude.
In closing, to the Triple M family, to each one who participated in our show by phoning in with your unique potato recipes, playing Parcel Parcel, offering kind words, or simply chatting at the pub, this radio station is as lively and authentic as it is thanks to all of you.
Previously, Southern Cross Austereo (SCA) announced that a quartet of radio industry luminaries will share hosting duties for their morning radio show starting next year.
Mick Molloy will lead the program, featuring Nick Riewoldt, Titus O’Reily, and returning host Rosie Walton. The program is titled “Mick’s Morning with Roo, Titus & Rosie.
Molloy expressed his enthusiasm for returning to his hometown radio station, where he’ll discuss everything related to Melbourne each morning alongside his cherished colleagues,” (paraphrased sentence)
As a die-hard Tiger fan, I can’t help but feel optimistic! From time to time, they might just make their grand appearance. Yet, as much as I’d love to think everything will go smoothly, I can’t help but wonder… What twists and turns might we encounter along the way?
Riewoldt stated: “Following two fulfilling years in Houston, Texas living with Cath’s relatives, I am thrilled to go back to Melbourne and reunite with Mick and the Triple M Breakfast crew, as my radio journey began there.
As a dedicated follower, I consider it an immense honor to contribute to the pulsating essence of Melbourne by broadcasting Triple M, a station that echoes the city’s soul, its melodies, and its people. Each day, I weave together the rhythmic beats and heartwarming tales of this wonderful city for our listeners, a responsibility I never forget.
A fresh team of hosts is poised to disrupt the present radio scene in Melbourne, with the ongoing decline in ratings for the Kyle & Jackie O show.
As a devoted fan following Kyle Sandilands and Jackie ‘O’ Henderson, I must admit that their transition to Melbourne hasn’t been an immediate success, as they continue to strive for the number one spot. However, their remarkable achievements in Sydney remain unparalleled in my memory.
In the Victorian capital, the radio duo only account for a 5.2% audience share based on the most recent GfK Radio Ratings data from October, with approximately 420,000 listeners tuning in each week.
