As an ardent fan of AFL and Bailey Smith, I must say, the man never ceases to amaze me! From his electrifying performances on the field to his recent stint as a barman at Public House in Melbourne – he truly is a jack of all trades. The way he effortlessly poured that shot of vodka was just another testament to his versatility.

On a bustling Thursday evening, it came as a shock when fans spotted Bailey Smith unexpectedly appearing behind the bar at Public House in Melbourne.

23-year-old AFL standout took pleasure in experimenting with a unique career path by tending bar at the eatery and cocktail lounge situated on Church Street, keeping himself occupied during his free time.

As part of the AFL Grand Final celebrations, Bailey seemed quite at ease taking on the role of bartender, skillfully pouring a measure of vodka into a glass.

Bailey maintained a relaxed look, donning a casually stylish blue and white shirt from Barry, paired with comfortable, baggy denim jeans. His distinctive golden mullet haircut was neatly groomed.

The Western Bulldogs star also shared his excitement about seeing Katy Perry, who is set to perform at the Brisbane Lions vs Sydney Swans AFL Grand Final on Saturday.

Barry seems to be having a great time tonight, as suggested by his post which includes pictures he shared with 337,000 followers on Instagram and is addressed to Katy Perry, saying ‘See you soon.’

American pop sensation Katy, aged 39, is scheduled to perform numerous chart-topping tunes for approximately 100,000 AFL spectators at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG). Meanwhile, Cody Simpson is expected to sing the national anthem, and Tina Arena will also take the stage.

During his time tending bar, Bailey aimed to boost his drink label, Barry, which he mentioned provided him with a clear purpose during his absence from the 2024 campaign following a torn anterior cruciate ligament sustained during December training sessions.

In an interview with the Herald Sun, the co-owner shared that Barry provides a platform for creativity, and I’ve invested numerous days examining mood boards and draft designs to achieve the perfect aesthetic.

‘We’re only scratching the surface here. It’s not just about drinking; we’re constructing something much larger. The fact that I’ve had a business to concentrate on during my ACL recovery has turned out to be an unexpected blessing, and I can hardly wait to return next year.’

His passion project – a Japanese-inspired drink of shochu, vodka, and soda – has cut through the saturated Australian celebrity booze market and saw him take home the Coles Liquor supplier award.

In 2023, he teamed up with sports legends Nick and Josh Daicos, Charlie Curnow, and NRL player Reece Walsh for a business venture related to alcohol.

Over the past few weeks, he hadn’t just stayed home; instead, he was spotted drinking heavily at a bar in Bondi, accompanied by several women, on an especially lively night out, not too long ago.

As a committed player, I’ve decided to shake things up and seek a new opportunity elsewhere. After informing the Western Bulldogs club of my desire for a trade, I’m ready to embrace some relaxation before diving into the 2024 season with a fresh start at a new club.

There’s a possibility that he might join teams like Geelong, Hawthorn, or Collingwood, as they are reportedly keen on acquiring him for the upcoming season.

Last Monday, the Bulldogs initiated discussions with the player after their loss in the elimination final against the Hawks, which marked the beginning of their post-game exits.

His desire to leave Whitten Oval has been frequently discussed, as it became increasingly evident throughout the season that he was seeking opportunities elsewhere.

According to the statement, Western Bulldogs’ player Bailey Smith has expressed his wish to pursue a transfer during the off-season.

‘The 23-year-old is yet to nominate a preferred club.

Considering Bailey’s remarkable skill set, advanced age, and demonstrated impact on matches, the team is committed to negotiating a fair and appropriate compensation package throughout this process.

Since joining the Bulldogs through the draft in 2018, Bailey has played an impressive 103 games in the AFL, swiftly earning himself a reputation as one of the league’s top midfielders thanks to his exceptional agility.

Elsewhere, Bailey also quietly separated from his girlfriend Gemma Dawkins earlier this year.

Initially, Bailey acknowledged their relationship back in May 2022, and they officially showed up together as a couple for the first time at the 2023 Derby Day event held in Melbourne.

For quite some time now, this secretive pair has mostly avoided public display of affection for their relationship. However, recent speculations suggest that they may have parted ways.

It seems they no longer follow each other on Instagram, as the latest picture of Bailey with Gemma was posted in February, taken during their romantic getaway in New York City.
