AFK Journey is getting a special update with characters from the popular anime series, Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End. The collaboration will launch on May 1, 2026, bringing Frieren and Himmel into the game’s world of Esperia, according to Farlight Games.

This update adds content inspired by the anime Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End, featuring a unique story within the game, special quests, and exclusive items to earn. It’s the first time this anime has been brought into the game.

AFK Journey has now collaborated with a major franchise for the third time. Previously, they featured content from Fairy Tail between May and June 2025, and Delicious in Dungeon arrived in November of the same year.

Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End is a fantasy anime about Frieren, an elf who lives for centuries. After she and her companions defeat the Demon King, she begins to think about life, death, and the connections she’s made along the way.

This series, created by Madhouse, has received a lot of positive attention for its compelling story, heartfelt moments, subtle humor, and beautiful music. It premiered in 2023, and after the second season finished in March 2026, a third season was announced, scheduled to arrive in October 2027, generating considerable excitement among fans.
