AEW World’s End 2024 Predictions: Wardlow and Omega return
As a seasoned wrestling enthusiast with over three decades of passion for the sport, I can confidently say that AEW World’s End is shaping up to be an unforgettable night! The sheer talent on display, from the established stars to the rising ones, promises to deliver a show worthy of the hype.
All Elite Wrestling (AEW) aims to finish 2024 strongly by hosting its second annual World’s End pay-per-view event on a Saturday in Orlando, Florida. The year 2024 has been a challenging one for the promotion, as they grapple with decreasing TV ratings and audience attendance for their shows.
Contrarily, 2024 has been equally triumphant for the company. All Elite Wrestling (AEW) achieved a monumental victory by securing a new television contract that safeguards their financial stability over the long term. With their financial security now established, AEW is poised to concentrate on producing captivating TV content that sparks conversations and draws maximum viewership towards the product. A strong AEW World’s End event would be a significant stride forward in achieving this goal.
Adam Cole vs MJF for the Dynamite Diamond Ring
On Saturday, the ongoing dispute between MJF and Adam Cole is expected to reach its end as they face off for the Dynamite Diamond Ring.
As a diehard fan, I’m buzzing with anticipation! Adam Cole is oozing confidence, boasting that his manager, Tony Khan, has given him the green light to have Matt Taven and Mike Bennett in his corner for this upcoming bout. The question on everyone’s lips is: will these two allies of Cole ultimately turn on him, paving the way for MJF to hold onto his cherished diamond ring?
Instead, it could be phrased as follows: An intriguing twist might unfold if Wardlow makes a comeback and defeats both Taven and Bennett, paving the way for MJF’s victory. At one point, Wardlow was incredibly popular among fans, and his alliance with MJF upon his return could generate the compelling storylines AEW has been lacking lately. Predicted Winner: MJF
Kyle Fletcher vs Will Ospreay in Semifinal Number One of the Continental Classic
On Saturday night, longtime friends-turned-rivals Will Ospreay and Kyle Fletcher will face off, with the winner earning a spot in the Finals of the Continental Classic. Their previous match at Full Gear was exceptional, but much has shifted for both competitors since then.
This contest is a story of two combatants with significantly disparate momentum swings. Fletcher has been on a winning streak ever since he beat Ospreay decisively at Full Gear. On the other hand, following his loss to Fletcher, Ospreay has also suffered defeats against Ricochet and Darby Allin in recent times.
This contest might end up being a tie, but many consider Will Ospreay to be the top wrestler globally. Kyle Fletcher is currently receiving a significant boost in his career. However, given that a Continental Classic Finals match with Kazuchika Okada seems like the most thrilling of the four potential finals, we’re leaning towards Will Ospreay as our pick for this one.
Ricochet vs Kazuchika Okada in Semifinal Two of the Continental Classic
In this semifinal round of the Second Continental Classic, Ricochet goes head-to-head with Kazuchika Okada. Compared to the exciting duel between Ospreay and Fletcher, this match may not hold as much allure and is likely to be more predictable.
Lately, Ricochet has been picking up speed, but it’s Okada who currently holds the Continental Championship title. It seems odd for the championship final without the defending champion present. Moreover, the rivalry between Ospreay and Okada carries a grand match atmosphere that is less evident in Ospreay vs Ricochet, given their frequent matches together. Predicted Winner: Kazuchika Okada
Thunder Rosa vs Mariah May in a Tijuana Street Fight for the AEW Women’s World Championship
For the past five years, one consistent aspect of the AEW Women’s division has been their ability to deliver an exciting street fight performance. The upcoming episode of this style will unfold at AEW World’s End, where Mariah May defends her AEW Women’s Championship against Thunder Rosa in a Tijuana Street Fight.
Ever since I clinched the AEW Women’s Title from Toni Storm at AEW All In, my reign has felt a bit lackluster to me, my dear fellow fan. Don’t get me wrong, there have been some exciting matches, but beyond the title defense against Mina Shirakawa, my run has seemed to lack a compelling narrative that truly resonates.
There is no reason for May to drop the AEW Women’s Title here. The best thing for the women’s division right now is to keep the title on Mariah May and then get her into a proper program with whoever her next challenger is, building up for an eventual rematch with Toni Storm. Winner: Mariah May
Powerhouse Hobbs vs Konosuke Takeshita for the International Title
In a persistent bid, Powerhouse Hobbs launches another assault against the Don Callis Family, aiming to seize the AEW International Title previously shared with his ex-stablemate, Konosuke Takeshita.
In the AEW arena, it’s evident that Powerhouse Hobbs holds immense potential to become a future singles champion. His skillset and adaptability make him a strong contender, deserving of a significant boost. However, at this moment, Konosuke Takeshita seems to be operating on a higher plane, making him the favored choice for this bout. It’s probable that he’ll retain his title, possibly with an assist from Don Callis or one of the Don Callis Family members. This way, Hobbs can still maintain his standing without suffering a clean loss.
Kris Statlander vs Mercedes Mone for the TBS Championship
Following their highly acclaimed women’s match at AEW Full Gear, Mercedes Mone and Kris Statlander are set to surpass their previous performance as they square off against each other once more at AEW World’s End.
It’s plausible that Mercedes Mone could lose the TBS Championship to Statlander, but it wouldn’t be a terrible outcome since Statlander is worthy of the title. AEW might have Kamille interfere to help Statlander win and protect Mone in defeat. Nevertheless, Mone has been positioned as the main star of AEW’s women’s division, so it seems more likely that she’ll retain the TBS Championship at World’s End. Predicted Winner: Mercedes Mone
Will Ospreay vs Kazuchika Okada in the Finals of the Continental Classic
Having locked down my semi-final wins earlier tonight, I’m all set for an epic showdown against Kazuchika Okada – we’ll go head-to-head in the Finals of the Continental Classic. He’s defending his title, and I can’t wait to give it my best shot!
It’s possible that Will Ospreay could defeat Okada, but it seems wiser to keep the Continental Title with the current champion for now. This is because freeing up Ospreay allows him to support Darby Allin and others in their fights against Jon Moxley and the Death Riders. Incorporating Ospreay into this storyline could help reinvigorate it, bringing it back to its initial level of excitement.
Orange Cassidy vs Adam Page vs Jay White vs Jon Moxley for the AEW World Championship
On Saturday, Jon Moxley will defend his AEW World Championship title in a four-cornered contest against Orange Cassidy, “Hangman” Adam Page, and Jay White.
In this match, Moxley faces an uphill battle due to its chaotic nature and the presence of three top-tier AEW competitors. Unlike other matches, he doesn’t have to be pinned or submitted to lose his championship. Yet, it seems unlikely that this confrontation poses a threat to his title reign.
Over the last few weeks, the disagreement among the three contenders has been extensively discussed, and there’s a strong likelihood that this discord will resurface at an inconvenient moment, giving Moxley a chance to keep his title.
After the match, it seems certain that Darby Allin and Christian Cage will make an appearance once more. This could potentially be the moment when Christian Cage attempts to cash in his contract for a chance at the AEW Title, but unfortunately for him, the Death Riders are likely to thwart his plan, causing chaos and ultimately leading to his failure.
Instead of it being Moxley and the Death Riders who close the show at the pay-per-view, it’s going to be none other than the electrifying Kenny Omega making a comeback as the night’s final surprise! This return will undoubtedly reignite the spirits of Darby Allin and everyone else eager to challenge Jon Moxley and his team. However, even with Omega’s arrival, it seems that at AEW World’s End, Moxley will carry off the AEW Title.
