Adriana Diaz and Kelly O’Grady named co-hosts of ‘CBS Saturday Morning’

CBS News announced that Adriana Diaz, a seasoned news anchor and reporter, and Kelly O’Grady, a business journalist, will be the new co-hosts of “CBS Saturday Morning.”

The new hosting team begins this week, the division said Friday. They replace Michelle Miller and Dana Jacobson, who were among those laid off last October as part of company-wide cuts.

Okay, so there’s been a lot of talk about changes to CBS News’ weekend programming, and I want to clarify something: these weren’t decisions made after Bari Weiss came on board as editor in chief. In fact, the plans were already in motion before she even started her new job earlier this month. It’s good to know these shifts weren’t a direct result of her arrival, but were already being considered.

Susan Weiss has caused problems for CBS News recently. Her late decision to halt a “60 Minutes” report about the Trump administration’s handling of Venezuelan migrants—who were deported to El Salvador—has drawn criticism and negative attention. Viewers haven’t been thrilled with the changes to “CBS Evening News” either, which launched this week with new anchor Tony Dokoupil.

Diaz and O’Grady will share hosting duties on “CBS Mornings 24/7,” the daily show on CBS News’ streaming service, and will work with regular host Vladimir Duthiers.

CBS News editor-in-chief Bari Weiss selected a new anchor to report on the U.S. military involvement in Venezuela, starting this past weekend.

Since joining CBS News in 2012, Diaz has worked as a correspondent, initially reporting on Asia from China and later from Chicago. Most recently, she anchored “CBS Mornings Plus,” a one-hour show that aired after “CBS Mornings” in cities like Los Angeles, though the program didn’t last long.

At 42, Diaz has also worked as an anchor for “CBS Weekend News” and often fills in for Gayle King on “CBS Mornings.” CBS News sees her as a potential replacement for King, whose contract is ending soon.

Denise O’Grady, age 34, recently joined CBS News in 2024 as an economics correspondent for MoneyWatch. Before that, she worked at Fox Business as a reporter and occasionally filled in as an anchor.

Besides co-hosting, O’Grady will still report on business, tech, and economic news for the network.
