Adrian Portelli gives fans an update on renovations for his insane $39million penthouse
As a casual observer of the extravagant lifestyle of the wealthy, I can’t help but marvel at the tales of people like Adrian, whose life experiences seem more akin to a Hollywood script than reality. The latest addition to his collection is a private jet, which he casually refers to as “Air AP”. It’s hard not to be impressed by such audacious displays of wealth, even if they do make me question the price of a gallon of milk these days.
Adrian Portelli has given fans an update on his plans for a massive luxury penthouse in Melbourne.
35-year-old Block bidder made an astounding purchase by spending $39 million on a downtown property that will be part of a future twin-tower development, marking the centerpiece of the city’s bustling business district.
On Thursdays, the affluent billionaire revealed updates about his projects by posting a video of the construction site, specifically tailored according to Portelli’s requirements.
In the brief video, Portelli demonstrated the stunning vistas seen from his 57th-floor flat, showcasing expansive walls of glass windows that extend from floor to ceiling.
The video also shows a spiral staircase under construction and workers’ tools and equipment.
In the video, you’ll also see the impressive $2 million Formula 1 racing car that was hoisted into my apartment back in May.
‘Penthouse slowly getting there,’ the businessman wrote in the caption.
According to reports, Portelli, affectionately known as “Mr Lambo” from The Block last season, is said to be using the penthouse as a weekend getaway.
He is currently spending $6million on modifying and customising the 1200sqm sky home.
The businessman told realestate.com.au he decided to buy the apartment the same day he saw it because of ‘the security’ and it being a ‘blank canvas’.
Additionally, he acknowledged that a key feature was the private access from the penthouse to the adjacent tower, where a luxurious five-star Shangri-La hotel would be located.
The hotel boasts a rooftop bar with a transparent floor, connecting both towers via a skybridge at great heights.
‘I’ve got a lift from my apartment that goes directly to the bar,’ Portelli said.
As a lifestyle connoisseur, I must share that although the allure of the ‘Sapphire by the Gardens’ twin towers on bustling LaTrobe Street, right in the core of the city, is undeniable, this exceptional property won’t be serving as my primary dwelling.
He shared that he dislikes urban life, expressing his preference for a more relaxed, coastal lifestyle instead.
‘This will probably be a weekender.’
As a devoted admirer, I’m excited to share that according to my sources, Portelli intends to incorporate not just one, but four spacious bedrooms within the luxurious penthouse. Furthermore, this magnificent abode will boast several kitchen areas, a cinema for private screenings, an indoor swimming pool, and a cozy cigar bar for a refined relaxation experience.
Portelli is known for showcasing his substantial wealth, estimated at around $350 million, on social media platforms.
Earlier this week he made headlines after sharing photos of his private jet.
Portelli, who is known for his fondness for high-end gadgets such as elite luxury cars, bought an airplane recently without revealing its price.
One picture showed the jet parked on a tarmac awaiting takeoff.
‘This is a first. Getting charted on my own plane,’ he wrote in the caption.
Another photo showed the billionaire seated at a table inside the jet’s cabin alongside a friend.
Additionally, Portelli posted a video that offered a glimpse into the jet’s cabin, boasting gleaming painted cabinetry and generously cushioned seating.
For quite some time now, the reality television personality has been globetrotting aboard a stylish private aircraft bearing his monogram on the tailfin, ever since he unveiled his lavish acquisition back in March.
In June, it was reported by The Herald Sun that a 2001 Bombardier Global Express twin-engine jet had been previously owned by the late advertising magnate from Melbourne, Harvey Mitchell.
As a lifestyle aficionado, I’d estimate that the private jet purchased by Portelli might have set him back a hefty sum between $15 million and $16 million. This luxurious bird can comfortably seat 21 passengers and conquer distances of up to 12,7137 kilometers without needing a pit stop – now that’s some serious flying time!
In 2018, according to the Australian Financial Review, Mitchell shelled out approximately $5.6 million for an aircraft he bought from Crown Casinos that same year.
As reported by Global Air.com, the aircraft made its debut in the market back in 1991, and production ended in 2006.
Approximately one hundred and fifty aircraft remain active with capabilities such as reaching speeds of 1126 kilometers per hour, boasting a fully functional kitchenette and entertainment system.
Portelli flaunted the luxury item while taking an overseas jaunt earlier this year.
In a set of Instagram posts from July, this wealthy individual boasted to his followers about one of the best parts of his journey: traversing the globe aboard my personal aircraft.
In March, he publicly declared the acquisition of a private jet, sharing a picture on social media that depicted him proudly posing by the stunning new asset while cradling his one-month-old baby boy.
‘I did a thing… Welcome to AIR AP,’ he boasted in the caption of the Instagram post.
In a contrast to his well-known extravagant spending habits and luxurious lifestyle, Portelli is joyfully sharing his ten-month-old son, Mercy, with his partner, Karlie Butler.
The unique name pays homage to one of the first luxury cars Portelli purchased – a rare orange Lamborghini Murcielago valued at over $700,000.
Portelli and Butler have been together for more than a year, having met at a bar.
Unlike Adrian, Karlie prefers to stay out of the spotlight, leading a low-key life.
Through his LMCT+ ‘loyalty program’, Portelli amassed billions by charging customers for various membership levels, granting them multiple chances to win lavish prizes.
Over the past three seasons, he’s been acquiring The Block properties and subsequently offering them in his raffles. The year 2024 represents his most significant acquisitions so far.
He spent a grand total of $15.03million as he bought all of the luxury Phillip Island homes from the show’s 2024 season in a first ever on the program.
