An acclaimed 1990s thriller starring Line of Duty‘s Adrian Dunbar airs on TV tonight.

Released in 1992, The Crying Game is a suspenseful thriller set in Northern Ireland during a period of conflict known as the Troubles. The film stars Stephen Rea as a member of the IRA, and tells the story of his unlikely friendship with Jody, a Black British soldier, played by Forest Whitaker.

Jody makes Fergus promise to find his girlfriend, Dil, if anything happens to him. When Jody dies, Fergus honors that promise, and he and Dil unexpectedly fall in love.
