Adria Arjona says Andor season 2 is "so much better" than season 1, and I believe her

As a gamer who’s been through countless hours of space adventures and epic battles, I can confidently say that the upcoming season of “Andor” is going to be a galactic game-changer. Having followed the franchise since its inception, I’ve seen my fair share of ups and downs – but Tony Gilroy’s masterpiece has managed to keep me on the edge of my seat from start to finish.

The TV series from Star Wars on Disney+ have varied responses. The Mandalorian was an instant success, yet The Book of Boba Fett received less enthusiasm. Most viewers seemed to appreciate Ahsoka, but the response to The Acolyte was so lukewarm that Disney decided to cancel it after just one season.

It appears that everyone is in agreement about one show, Andor, being exceptional. This series serves as a prequel to the film Rogue One and focuses on Cassian Andor (played by Diego Luna), who evolves from a self-centered smuggler into a dedicated member of the Rebel Alliance. With its second and final season approaching, cast member Adria Arjona, who portrays arms dealer and ex-girlfriend Bix Caleen, is optimistic that it will leave us all amazed.

Upon reading the first season, I thought to myself, “This is too good to be true,” but when I began season two, I was taken aback, saying, “[showrunner Tony Gilroy] couldn’t surpass season one.” However, I started reading episode one of season two, thinking it wouldn’t measure up. But boy, was I wrong! It’s not just good; it’s fantastic. Truly, the masterpiece that Tony Gilroy has produced and created is astounding, and I can hardly believe I’m a part of it. I have Tony Gilroy on speed dial, and he seems to only answer my calls. I constantly check in with him, asking for advice or just chatting. He always greets me with a laugh, saying, “You’re calling again?” I hold him in such high regard; his talent is undeniable, and he has truly outdone himself in season two.”

He’s a really good chat, and he’s so funny. And the way he talks to me — no one believes in me more than Tony Gilroy. He sees things that I don’t see. He sees my value as an actor. I’m like, “I don’t know if I can.” And he’s like, “What are you talking about? Yes, you can.” And I’m like, “Okay. Yes, I can.” He just believes in me so much, and he’s really turned into my godfather in this industry.

As a dedicated gamer speaking my thoughts: First off, Tony Gilroy seems like an intriguing character. Secondly, although it’s hard to fathom how the second season of Andor could surpass the first one, given that the initial season was exceptional, I choose to believe Arjona when he says so. The term “gritty” or “Star Wars for adults” is often used casually with regard to this enduring series, but Andor genuinely managed to pull it off without feeling absurd. I was thoroughly impressed by the first season and eagerly await a second round.

Arjona openly admitted that she is a convert, and to honor her character, she got a tattoo. She described the tattoo as a small x for Bix, which she got while on set during a break. “I even went ahead and had it done, despite Disney potentially having issues with it,” she shared. “My makeup artist performed a stick-and-poke [tattoo] right in the middle of lunch.”

We’re likely to catch the second season of “Andor” sometime around the beginning of next year. In the interim, Arjona is set to star in the upcoming psychological thriller “Blink Twice,” debuting this week. Here, she portrays a former reality TV contestant who receives an enigmatic invitation to visit a secluded island.
