In the finale of “Andor,” Diego Luna’s character walks away to his death, setting up events from “Rogue One.” However, someone significant to him experienced a heartening conclusion. As “Welcome to the Rebellion” ended with Bix Caleen leaving Yavin IV to spare Cassian from choosing between her and joining the Rebellion, the closing scenes of “Jedha, Kyber, Erso” revealed Bix on Mina-Rau a year later, holding a baby. Although not explicitly stated, it is strongly implied that this child belongs to Cassian, and Adria Arjona has recently clarified a crucial aspect of this scene that significantly alters my perspective on the final episode of the “Star Wars” series.

Directly from the mind of Tony Gilroy, the creator of Andor, I can confirm in an interview that Bix was aware she was pregnant before she parted ways with Cassian. In my own words, this is the truth I’ve learned about their story.

In my perspective, I’m absolutely certain she understands the significance of the letter she’s writing. My confidence stems from Tony Gilroy affirming this fact. Without his confirmation, I wouldn’t have voiced such conviction.

As for Cassian, he’s prepared to relinquish everything for Bix. This shows the profound importance she holds in his life. It’s a considerable sacrifice, not just for Cassian’s sake, but also for the benefit of the rebellion. Such selflessness speaks volumes about their bond.

According to Andor’s Benjamin Bratt, he made an effort to bring Bail Organa onto the screen earlier in Season 2. However, it was unfortunate that this couldn’t be accomplished.

In a recent discussion, Denise Gough (from Andor) expressed that she found her Star Wars character’s ending quite fulfilling, but what truly excited her was the prospect of her character’s spinoff.

In her virtual message, Bix urged him not to prioritize her over the Rebellion because she was aware of his significant role in their struggle against the Empire. She had personally witnessed this, and furthermore, she had been informed by a Force healer on Yavin IV (as depicted in “Messenger”) that he would play a pivotal part in the Rebellion’s victory. As depicted in Rogue One, Cassian met his end in Jyn Erso’s arms as the Death Star obliterated the Scarif facility, where the plans for the space station were stored. It’s hard to fathom the sorrow that will overwhelm Bix upon learning about her deceased lover, and their child who will never have a chance to meet their father.

While it’s uncertain, there might be a chance for Cassian and Bix’s child to reappear as an adult in the Star Wars timeline later on.
