adidas Originals and Bad Bunny Give a Nod to Puerto Rico With “Gazelle City Series” Release
As an avid fan, I’m thrilled about the upcoming release of the “Gazelle City Series” collaboration between Adidas Originals and Bad Bunny! This limited edition sneaker will be available in the vibrant colorway of El Yunque, Santurce, and Cabo Rojo. Unfortunately, the SKU and MSRP details aren’t out yet. Mark your calendars for July 11, 2025, as that’s when you can grab a pair exclusively at Adidas stores!
Bad Bunny, a globally recognized music sensation who shares a strong emotional connection with Puerto Rico, is furthering his partnership with adidas Originals by introducing the “Gazelle City Series”. This unique collection is an energetic tribute to the multifaceted landscapes and rich cultural heritage of Puerto Rico. The release coincides perfectly with Bad Bunny’s “No Me Quiero Ir de Aquí” residency in his hometown, which spans 30 shows from July 11 to September 14.
The assortment, a heartfelt tribute to love, highlights lesser-known island locations that merit international acclaim, beyond the usual tourist spots of San Juan. Each of the three unique designs carefully encapsulates a particular place into a physical symbol of pride and authenticity. The series’ shows are presented in three colorways, each telling a different story about Puerto Rico.
The set, a sincere ode to affection, showcases less-visited island locations that deserve global attention, going beyond the crowded streets of San Juan. Every one of the three unique designs captures a specific location into a tangible symbol of local pride and authenticity. The shows in the collection are available in three colorways, each representing a unique narrative about Puerto Rico.
As a passionate admirer, I find myself deeply connected to three captivating symbols of Puerto Rico – “El Yunque,” “Sancturce,” and “Cabo Rojo.”
“El Yunque,” draped in rich greens, stands as a testament to the lush biodiversity and profound cultural roots within the United States National Forest System’s only tropical rainforest. It serves as a verdant homage to nature’s timeless power and beauty on the island.
“Sancturce,” vibrantly painted in oranges, embodies the dynamic heart of Puerto Rican music, dance, and contemporary artistic energy. This neighborhood pulses with the creative essence that makes it a true cultural powerhouse.
“Cabo Rojo,” radiantly showcased in pinks, draws inspiration from its renowned salt flats and the unique natural phenomenon of pink waters due to salt-loving microorganisms. Despite the lingering effects of Hurricane Maria, Cabo Rojo remains one of Puerto Rico’s precious ecological treasures.
In a way that echoes the sentiment of his residency’s title, “No me quiero ir de aquí” (“I don’t want to leave here”), the Gazelle Cabo Rojo is poignantly represented in imagery featuring the respected elders of Puerto Rico – the keepers of the island’s stories and spirit.
