Adele Roberts shares concerning health update as she posts hospital snap – three years after all clear from cancer battle

Adele Roberts has shared a worrying health update as she posted a snap from hospital.

46-year-old celebrity known for her appearances on TV and radio had an operation for bowel cancer in October 2021, followed by chemotherapy treatment and the installation of a stoma. She declared in June 2022 that she was cancer-free.

Three years post her cancer victory, Adele recently disclosed on her Instagram Stories that she’s undergoing blood tests due to a lower-than-normal iron level in her body.

In the cardiology department’s waiting area, Adele posted a radiant photo alongside her partner Kate Holderness. She conveyed that she was undergoing a blood test for her anemia today. Fingers crossed, she hopes this procedure goes smoothly and she receives additional medication.

It seems there’s some uncertainty as to why my iron levels are low, possibly due to chemotherapy-induced damage to my blood or because of having a stoma. Without taking my medication, I simply lack the energy. At present, I’m not running and I’m constantly feeling exhausted.

She mentioned: ‘I hope I’ll receive additional medication after my GP reviews the test results today, or else I may continue to fall asleep frequently until I pass away.’

Later on, I shared another photo featuring bandages on my arms – a result of the needlework sessions.

Afterwards, I posted another picture displaying the telltale signs of my recent acupuncture treatment – bandages on my arms.

Not long after this, she shared that she found out about her anemia during her previous attempt to join Dancing on Ice. The show’s physician identified a problem with her iron levels in her blood upon noticing that she had a habit of chewing ice, which she admitted to.

In January, Adele shared about the challenging side effects she experienced during chemotherapy, disclosing that the treatment led to the removal of her fingertips.

At present, she’s in remission, yet her battle against the condition has led to some unanticipated aftereffects, as she shared on the Monday Mile Podcast – these include the appearance of black spots on her tongue due to the treatment.

Adele informed the program that chemotherapy varies for each individual, but in her case, it had a significant impact on her skin.

Consequently, it rendered my fingerprints useless. This meant I was unable to utilize my fingers for various tasks such as operating a phone, interacting with touch screens, or using self-service checkouts, among other similar activities.

My soles got severely scorched, giving an impression as if I had burned them. My tongue even darkened to a black hue.

I noticed some dark-colored patches on my tongue. Instead of its typical pink color, similar to the inside of an intestine, it appeared more like a deep shade of purple. It seemed as though it might ooze something sticky, like molasses.

In the course of my treatment, I found myself in quite a challenging situation. Yet, I took solace in the thought that if this turbulence was affecting me, then it must be taking an even greater toll on the cancer cells. Consequently, I made it a point to remain active throughout my chemotherapy journey.

Instead of picturing chemotherapy flowing through my body and destroying cancer cells as a means of mental fortitude, I would often imagine this process and use movement and visualization as strategies to stay strong mentally.

In October 2021, Adele received a diagnosis of bowel cancer, a condition she shared updates about on various social media platforms. Her journey involved undergoing colostomy surgery to eliminate a bowel tumor, resulting in the use of a stoma bag.

After nine months of battling my cancer diagnosis, undergoing both chemotherapy and radiotherapy treatments, I’ve received the incredible news that I am now cancer-free! Life has taken an unexpected turn as I now live with a stoma bag, affectionately named Audrey. While adjusting to this new chapter in my life isn’t always easy, I’m determined to embrace it and continue enjoying the vibrant lifestyle I love.

Previously, the star of Dancing on Ice admitted that she had a sense of responsibility regarding her cancer scare and believed she was being penalized for some past actions.

She expressed that she initially believed she was responsible for the cancer, and her immediate reaction was fear of mortality. However, when the doctor offered assistance, that became her sole source of hope.

‘And when he said it wasn’t my fault that’s when I just cried and got so emotional.’
