Adele cuts a low profile as she wraps up in a Burberry scarf and baseball cap while out and about in Rome

Adele tried to stay out of the spotlight on Saturday, covering her head with a Burberry scarf as she left Il Bolognese restaurant in Rome.

The 37-year-old singer was seen waiting for her limo on the street, bundled up in a black coat to stay warm.

She layered her coat over a pair of flared blue jeans, a white jumper and a pair of white trainers.

While trying to stay out of the spotlight in Rome, Adele finished her look with a black cap and a small black leather bag worn across her body.

The singer was recently seen out and about after news broke that her 2011 album, 21, has become more successful than Whitney Houston’s 1992 soundtrack, The Bodyguard.

Adele has broken the record for album sales, surpassing Whitney Houston. According to The Sun, Adele has sold an incredible 56.375 million albums, slightly more than Whitney Houston’s 56.372 million.

Adele became famous worldwide with her album ’21,’ and many of its songs quickly became incredibly popular.

Songs featured on the record include Turning Tables, Rumour Has It and Someone Like You.

Whitney Houston’s album, which served as the soundtrack to the film The Bodyguard, featured some of her biggest and most memorable songs, like “I Will Always Love You,” “I Have Nothing,” “I’m Every Woman,” and “Run To You.”

Ryan Tedder, the singer from OneRepublic who helped write and produce Adele’s “Rumour Has It” and co-wrote “Turning Tables,” shared the exciting news on Instagram.

Honestly, it blows my mind even now, but apparently, none of us – not even Adele herself! – fully grasped what we were creating with ’21’ while we were actually making it. It’s just… incredible to think about, you know? We were all part of something huge, and we didn’t even know it at the time! I’ve listened to that album a million times, and it still gives me chills knowing that.

We were having a fantastic time, rushing to finish the music and keep up with how quickly Adele was working.

The music sounded so unlike anything else popular then that we weren’t even sure if the album had any potential hit songs.

We simply adored these songs and knew we were incredibly lucky to be working with one of the all-time greatest vocalists.

It’s incredible that this record is being broken! ‘The Bodyguard’ is a personal favorite album of mine, and Whitney Houston was just phenomenal – I’m speechless.

‘Records are meant to be broken but until the next one passes us – muchas gracias. Viva la música’.

Album sales figures were calculated using the Commensurate Sales to Popularity Concept, which combines data from albums, singles, streams, and downloads to provide a comparable measure of popularity.

It helps us fairly compare artists who released music in different eras, like those from the vinyl record age versus the current streaming age.
