Adelaide Crows star Wayne Milera suffers scare after second son is born prematurely
As a dedicated lifestyle advisor, I’d like to share a heartfelt story that’s recently surfaced from Wayne Milera, the resilient defender of the Adelaide Crows. In a poignant disclosure, he’s opened up about his recent absence from a game earlier this month, offering a glimpse into his personal journey.
The enigma behind his departure has been clarified by the touching announcement that his second son, Stanley Richie Wayne Milera, was born earlier than expected and is now healthy.
Stanley was born on Sunday, July 6, weighing 2.13kg after just 32 weeks of gestation.
The newborn is currently receiving care in an Adelaide hospital’s neonatal intensive care unit.
As a caring lifestyle expert, I’d say I’m keeping a close eye on this little one, together with his loving parents and a dedicated healthcare team, ensuring we provide him the best care possible for him to fully thrive and regain his health.

They shared news about the arrival of their newborn son, Stanley, on social media, posting an emotional picture of him swaddled snugly in a delicate blue crocheted shawl.
I find myself currently at the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), a place I’ll remain until my strength allows me to return home to my loving family, especially my eagerly awaiting older brother, Carter. This is how it reads in their touching message.
I’d like to extend my heartfelt gratitude to our loved ones – family and friends – for the unwavering affection and encouragement they’ve shown us. And a warm thank you goes out to those who kept us close in their thoughts. We eagerly look forward to the day when we can introduce our new family member, Stanley, to all of you.
27-year-old Milera took a leave of absence from the Adelaide Crows’ match against Melbourne on July 6 for private matters.
It has now been revealed it was due to the birth of his second son.
On November 1, 2023, the Mileras got married, having become parents to their first child, Carter, who was born on March 30, 2021.
A wave of backing and camaraderie is coming from both fans and teammates, filling up social media with kind thoughts and inspiring words to help them through this difficult period in their lives.
‘Congratulations, Junior, Nina and Carter,’ wrote the Adelaide Football Club.

‘Aaawww so gorgeous. Congratulations to you all,’ one person wrote.
‘Gorgeous! Get nice and strong Stanley,’ a second added.
Stanley’s premature birth marks a poignant milestone for the Milera family.
As a lifestyle connoisseur, I’m excitedly following the heartwarming story of the Adelaide Crows family. They’re preparing for the arrival of their new addition, little Stanley, in the near future. It’s wonderful to witness the community’s support for this growing family, and I can’t help but feel a sense of joy and anticipation along with them.
Milera has played as a defender for the Crows since 2016.
