Adam Sandler pays brilliant tribute to Happy Gilmore co-star: “We are all gonna miss you”

Adam Sandler recently honored one of his “Happy Gilmore” colleagues with a heartwarmingly funny tribute after their demise.

1996 saw a sports comedy where Adam Sandler portrayed an unusual golf prodigy. This character faced opposition from grumpy experts reluctant to see him compete, along with his struggles to manage his own volatile emotions.

In a well-known scene from the movie, Happy accidentally sends a golf ball into the jaws of an alligator, who shows no signs of returning it.

Once I realized that the one-eyed alligator had swiped the hand of the esteemed retiree, Chubbs Peterson, I felt a burning desire for retribution. So, I resolved to teach him a lesson by engaging in a physical confrontation. I intended to subdue this four-legged bandit through wrestling and headbutting him until he was no longer a threat.

Later on, he shows Chubbs the alligator’s head, but the sight of it startles him so much that he tumbles backward through the window and perishes immediately.

A few days ago, the Colorado Alligator Sanctuary shared the sad news of Morris’s passing. Known for his roles in films like Dr. Doolittle 2, Blues Brothers 2000, and Interview with a Vampire, it is believed that he was at least eighty years old.

Upon receiving this news, Sandler posted a photo of Morris’ iconic scene to his Instagram, accompanied by the caption: “Farewell, Morris. We will all dearly miss you. You were tough on directors, makeup artists, costume designers – pretty much anyone with limbs. But I know it was for the greater good of the film.

The incident where you refused to leave your trailer unless provided with forty heads of lettuce taught me a profound lesson: always stand firm in your artistic integrity. I will always remember the moment during craft service when we shared a Three Musketeers bar and you gave me the larger half, symbolizing your generosity. Indeed, that encapsulates who you were.

Even though your character’s beheading in the first film meant you couldn’t be in the sequel, we loved the thoughtful fruit basket and funny note you sent. I’ll surely miss the sound of your tail rustling through tall grass, your rough texture, but most of all, I’ll miss your contagious laughter.

“Thanks to Mr Young for taking care of you all these years, and vaya con dios, old friend.”

The farm announced that Morris will undergo taxidermy, ensuring he’ll continue to frighten children in the future. They mentioned this decision was in line with what Morris himself would have preferred.

In July, the next installment of the movie will be available on Netflix, featuring many familiar faces along with some special guest appearances.

You can currently stream the movie “Happy Gilmore” on platforms like Sky and NOW. The sequel, titled “Happy Gilmore 2”, will be released on Netflix starting from July 25th.

The first printed issue of Digital Spy’s magazine, titled “British Comedy Legends,” is available for purchase! Grab it from your local newsstands or buy it online, now only £3.99.
