As a dedicated follower of cinematic history, I must say that the news of Eminem joining the cast of Happy Gilmore 2 is nothing short of exhilarating! Growing up, the original film was a staple in my VHS collection, and to see it come back to life with such an iconic figure like Slim Shady is just mind-blowing.

Adam Sandler has confirmed that rapper Eminem will make an ‘insane’ appearance in Happy Gilmore 2.

The actor, 58, made the big reveal while appearing on Friday’s episode of The Dan Patrick Show.

He further announced that production has been completed for the eagerly awaited sequel, and the movie might debut on Netflix as soon as July 2025.

Initially, Sandler had his doubts about revealing details of the upcoming movie, where both NFL player Travis Kelce and Ben Stiller are set to make appearances. However, he couldn’t contain his excitement when discussing Eminem’s unexpected appearance in the film.

Sandler told host Patrick, who is also featured in the movie, “I’m not sure if they’ll scold me regardless of what I do since they requested I avoid any press, but go ahead and share your thoughts. I’ll let you know if it’s appropriate to discuss.

To which Patrick responded, ‘Can I talk about Eminem having a cameo?’

The pair laugh and explained that the 52-year-old rapper was ‘cool’ and ‘great’ to work with.

Sandler added: ‘Okay, yes, yes you can. Eminem was cool, he came by, he was great.’

Despite not disclosing the specific part Eminem has in Happy Gilmore 2, Sandler commented that Eminem was extremely funny during filming.

‘I’ve known Eminem for a long time, he’s a great guy and he came in and was funny as hell,’ he shared.

It seems like we spent a whole day with Eminem, and he was relentless in his actions, absolutely incredible. He said countless things that are useful to us and just as many that it’s good we have on record.

In May, streaming service Netflix announced plans for a new Happy Gilmore movie.

In March, it came as no shock when Christopher McDonald, known for playing Shooter McGavin in the 1996 original film, announced that a sequel was being developed.

In an August interview with IndieWire, Sandler mentioned that Benny Safdie had a “tasty role” in the eagerly awaited movie.

As a diehard fan, I can’t help but be thrilled about the stellar lineup for this upcoming project! Guess who else will be joining the fray? None other than the mesmerizing Margaret Qualley, bombshell from The Substance, and the legendary Jack Nicklaus, the retired golf icon at 84 years young. Can’t wait to see them in action!

On The Dan Patrick Show this coming Friday, Sandler mentioned that he aims to debut his movie around July 2025, although an exact release date has yet to be finalized.

When Patrick inquired from the celebrity known for both Spanish and English (Spanglish) about whether he experienced pressure while unveiling a sequel more than 30 years following the initial blockbuster’s premiere, his response was simply put: “A great deal.

The actor stated that we have an abundance of great items at our disposal, and our aim is to ensure everything aligns seamlessly, right from the beginning to the end, and this is what we strive for.

‘We’ll see. We’re definitely nervous, but we feel some sort of confidence.’

Earlier in November, Eminem was spotted filming for Happy Gilmore 2 in New Jersey.

Initially, someone familiar with the production shared with The Sun: “He’s a huge admirer of the initial film, and it was truly enjoyable collaborating with him.

He was remarkably understated, lacking a large group of attendants, and an utter joy to work with on the film set.

1) In his performance, he embraced a humorous character wholeheartedly. Interestingly, he arrived the previous evening specifically for this role and departed the day after. This entire production took only one day to complete.
