Adam Peaty’s ‘outraged’ mother’s response to Gordon Ramsay’s ‘cruel digs’ about her in explosive wedding speech – as her son changes his name and blocks texts from his family amid bitter feud

A family source says Adam Peaty’s mother is deeply upset that Gordon Ramsay mentioned their long-running family conflict during his speech at the wedding. She feels ‘outraged’ and ‘hurt’ by the public reference to their strained relationship.

I was shocked to hear about the drama unfolding with Adam Peaty and his family! Apparently, things are really strained – I read that he’s actually blocked his parents’ texts and even legally changed his name to Ramsay Peaty. It’s so sad to see, and it’s really unusual behavior, especially considering how close they always seemed. It’s just a really tough situation all around.

Gordon Ramsay, 59, complimented Holly on her appearance and told Adam how fortunate he was. He then pointed to his wife, Tana, suggesting Adam could expect a similar happy future.

And in a sly dig at Adam’s absent parents he told Holly, 25: ‘Shame you don’t have the same.’

Caroline Peaty, Adam’s mother, wasn’t allowed at the fancy event, and she thinks the famous chef intentionally made a hurtful remark about her.

A family member told the Daily Mail that Caroline is shocked and upset Gordon mentioned their personal issues in his speech, calling it outrageous and hurtful.

Okay, let’s talk about what just happened. When he said Tana would be a great mom to both kids, it really felt like a low blow to Caroline. Honestly, it came across as unnecessarily harsh and implied she wasn’t measuring up – it was a really unkind thing to say, and it definitely felt like a deliberate dig at her parenting.

‘She has always done her best for all her children. She is a very good mum.

‘Who says this wasn’t pre-planned.?’

The source added: ‘We may not have much as a family but we have values.’

Caroline, a 60-year-old mother of four, and her husband Mark stayed inside their home in Uttoxeter, Staffordshire, throughout the wedding and reception.

Adam Peaty has publicly signaled his commitment to his family by adding his wife’s last name to his social media accounts, changing his name to Adam Ramsay Peaty.

Changing his name is the newest indication that Adam is growing apart from his family, following his decision to ask his parents not to attend his wedding at Bath Abbey.

Following his marriage to Nicola Peltz in 2022, Adam has done what Brooklyn Beckham did – he’s added her last name to his own.

Similar to his brother Adam, Brooklyn has stopped speaking to their parents, David and Victoria. This family conflict is why he missed Adam and Holly’s wedding, even though he’s been friends with Holly since they were kids.

Adam married influencer Holly on Saturday at Bath Abbey, and they celebrated with a reception at the upscale Kin House. The wedding happened despite a strained relationship with his family, and his mother, Caroline, wasn’t invited.

More than 130 miles away in Staffordshire, Adam’s mother, Caroline, was devastated to miss what should have been a joyous occasion, and was completely overwhelmed with grief.

Everyone in the Peaty family wasn’t invited to the wedding, except for Adam’s sister, Beth, who was a bridesmaid.

Recent reports indicate that Mark, Adam’s father, was the sole guest invited to the wedding besides Beth. However, he was instructed to sit in the back, amongst the guests of other attendees.

During the wedding, Gordon Ramsay, the bride’s father, apparently made a harsh joke at the expense of his new son-in-law’s parents during his speech.

Gordon Ramsay, 59, has become involved in the ongoing family issues of his son-in-law, Adam Peaty, stating that his wife, Tana, will be a supportive mother to their children, according to The Sun. The report also claims Adam has blocked his family from contacting him.

During his speech, Gordon complimented Holly on how lovely she looked and told Adam he was fortunate to be marrying her. He also pointed to his wife, Tana, as an example of the happiness Adam could expect in the future.

The article reports that Gordon made a hurtful comment to his daughter Holly, seemingly referencing Adam’s parents. He reportedly said, ‘It’s a shame you don’t have the same,’ implying Adam’s upbringing was lacking.

During his speech, Adam focused on his swim coach, Mel Marshall, calling her his biggest support and source of inspiration, and didn’t talk about his family or parents. He credited her with keeping him grounded and motivated.

In an emotional moment he also reportedly said that he saw Mel ‘like a mum’ due to her support.

Oh my gosh, I knew it! Someone close to everything has confirmed it – the Ramsays were plotting this the whole time! They wanted Adam’s family completely out of the picture, and they actually did it! It’s just… awful, but honestly, not surprising. I always suspected they were up to no good.

It seems surprising that Gordon and Tana, as parents themselves, aren’t showing more understanding towards Caroline, Mark, and their family.

Representatives for Adam and Gordon have been contacted by The Daily Mail for comment.

Holly arrived at her wedding in Bath Abbey with her famous chef father, but she wore a large, flowing ivory cloak to hide her lace wedding dress.

The influencer had a valid reason to feel anxious as she walked through the bustling crowd before her wedding to Adam.

The seemingly perfect wedding hid a bitter family conflict. The groom’s mother, and most of his family, were left out of the celebration, with accusations of elitism and social prejudice fueling the rift.

More than 130 miles away in Staffordshire, Adam’s mother, Caroline, was devastated to miss what should have been a joyous occasion, overwhelmed with grief at not being there for her son.

Standing in front of the house where he spent his childhood, Adam, 59, told The Mail on Sunday he wouldn’t allow himself to be hurt like that again.

She had told Daily Mail that she felt as if Holly and Adam ‘have cut my heart out’.

Oh my gosh, you will NOT believe this! I just found out, like, right before Adam walked into the abbey with little George, holding his hand, he got the worst text from his aunt Louise. Apparently, she wasn’t invited to the wedding either! Can you imagine? Poor Adam, dealing with that right then? It’s just… heartbreaking! I’m obsessed with knowing every little detail, and this is just… wow.

She wrote, expressing her hope that he would never experience the same intense pain he had caused their mother. Despite everything, she still loved him, and she expressed her disappointment and disapproval of both of them.

On this joyful day, and every anniversary of it, please remember the deep pain you caused your mother. Her heart still aches with sadness.

This family feud started in September 2024 when Adam and Holly didn’t invite many of their relatives to their engagement party, which caused significant hurt feelings.

Caroline wasn’t invited to Holly’s fancy hen party at Soho Farmhouse last month, despite years of driving her son to training and the fact that the bride’s mother, Tana Ramsay, and friends like Victoria Beckham were there.

Despite everything Caroline sent a card and gift to her newlywed son for his 31st birthday today.

Adam’s great-aunt Janet, 73, who wasn’t invited to the wedding yesterday, told The Mail on Sunday she feels deeply sorry for Caroline.

It’s shocking how he’s treating his mother, especially after everything she’s done for him since he was a child. It’s simply unkind.

Even though everyone was avoiding her and she was heartbroken, Caroline had warned she would still come to the wedding. If she wasn’t allowed inside the abbey, she said she would wait outside and watch from the street.

She initially agreed to go, but then changed her mind. Her husband, Mark, persuaded her it would be too distressing to participate.

Honestly, if she’d dared to go, I just have to imagine the scene! Five security guards, blocking the way to his abbey! It wasn’t just any entrance either – those doors… ancient wood, unbelievably carved. And the flowers! White roses and hydrangeas, everywhere, framing the whole thing in this beautiful, heartbreaking way. It would have been devastating, just to see that wall of security and know he’d gone to such lengths… I wish I’d been there to witness it, even though it would have been awful.

For security, all guests – including David and Victoria Beckham – had to wear wristbands.

Crowds quickly gathered near the Abbey, hoping to see the bride as she arrived. One person described the scene as chaotic.

Security guards created a tight protective barrier around the bride and her family as they carefully made their way through the narrow hallway inside the historic building.

Everyone in the Peaty family was excluded from the wedding except for Adam’s sister, Beth, who was a bridesmaid.

Recent reports indicate that Mark, Adam’s father, was the sole guest—aside from Beth—invited to the wedding. However, he was informed he would be seated in the back, among the additional guests.

Adam’s brother, James, who he’s not close to, shared an old photo of their mother, Caroline Peaty, at the wedding location after not being invited to the wedding itself.

The emotional photo was taken down from his Instagram Story only 15 minutes after being posted, possibly because he was starting to feel bad about how intense the conflict has gotten.

People familiar with the recent events will notice the significance of the wedding location in the picture – Adam and Holly got married there just before it was taken.

The photograph, taken at another time, depicts a mother and son standing together, possibly dressed for a wedding, as a meaningful gesture.

Interestingly, James – arrested for supposedly sending threatening messages to the athlete during his bachelor party – paired the image with a meaningful song.

James chose to perform a remix of ‘Speak Softly, Love,’ a memorable song featured in the classic movie, The Godfather.

The first film in the series came out in 1972 and centers around the story of Michael Corleone (Al Pacino), the son of a Mafia boss, and his relationship with Kay Adams (Diane Keaton), a woman from outside his world.

It appears James is drawing a comparison between the Corleones and the Ramsays, positioning the latter as the dominant family, and his brother Adam as someone who doesn’t quite fit in.

As Michael fully becomes the Mafia boss, his relationship with Kay falls apart, ending with him shutting her out – literally and figuratively – as seen in the final scene when he closes the door on her.

James’s Instagram page, now empty, only ever featured a single post: a photo of him with his mother. That post has since been removed.

The Ramsay family spent a lot of money on the wedding venue – typically around £2,500 for a single event – and reserved it exclusively for the entire day to keep the ceremony private.

Gordon Ramsay, known for his famously harsh language while cooking, was surprisingly well-behaved as he assisted his daughter exiting a black Rolls-Royce. The car arrived around 12:30 PM outside a historic abbey.

He leaned in and whispered something to her, then briefly kissed her cheek as someone adjusted her clothes.

A cold wind whipped around them as they walked, and a crowd of people cheered ‘Merry Christmas’ as they went by.

The guests waiting to see the bride included many famous faces, like Sir David and Victoria Beckham – a couple who have dealt with their own family drama in the past.

Romeo, Cruz, and Harper—the children of David and Victoria Beckham, and good friends with the Ramsay family—also attended. However, Brooklyn Beckham was not present.

Marcus Wareing from Masterchef: The Professionals and his wife Jane were also there.

The ensuing ceremony, one guest later told The Mail on Sunday, was ‘beautiful and very emotional’.

Holly, similar to her fiancé Adam who is deeply religious, insisted on a wedding ceremony held in a church. Reports suggest George, Peaty’s son from a former relationship, was a key part of the celebration.

Holly’s bridesmaids were her sisters, Megan, age 27, and Tilly, age 24, along with Adam’s sister, Bethany. Bethany was the only member of Adam’s family invited to both the wedding and Holly’s bachelorette party.

Honestly, it was so obvious why Bethany was a bridesmaid! It wasn’t just about being family, it was because she gets the Ramsays’ whole vibe – that super glamorous, perfect lifestyle. She just…fits right in with their world, you know? It’s like she was made to be part of their inner circle. I always knew she’d find her place with them!

Some viewed Bethany’s action – joining arms with Holly’s oldest sister and entering the abbey with white lilies – as a deliberate act of rebellion against her family.

The bridesmaids’ dresses were flowing red designs by Victoria Beckham. Victoria Beckham herself wore a teal dress from her own line, costing £1,290, and the bride’s mother, Tana, also wore a dress by the designer – a dark green silk gown.

Peaty, meanwhile, slicked back his hair and wore the same dinner suit as his new father–in–law.

No one revealed who designed Holly’s beautiful floral lace dress. The designer remained a secret until Holly was safely inside the abbey, out of view of the cameras.

Aside from the noticeable lack of the bride’s father, the wedding ceremony went smoothly and the couple were happily married.

The newly married couple left the church around 1:30 PM, greeted by celebratory bell ringing. They then drove to Kin House, a beautiful Georgian manor house located 17 miles from Chippenham, for their wedding reception.

The wedding reception included a delicious meal with prawn cocktail, beef Wellington, and halibut, finished with a tarte tatin. A traditional wedding cake was served later that evening at 8pm.

According to a source, Holly and Adam put a lot of careful thought into their event, and everything went exactly as planned. They were thrilled to finally share it all with their guests.

Although the wedding ceremony and reception were kept completely private, it’s expected that footage will be included in a future Netflix documentary focusing on the Ramsay family’s life.

Caroline Peaty might finally get to see her son’s wedding when it airs early next year – it could be the first time she’s truly seen it.

Okay, so I was completely glued to my phone this Sunday morning, and Dan Walker, bless him, finally gave us a peek inside Adam Peaty’s wedding! It looked absolutely unforgettable, and honestly, I’m still reeling from the photos. I’ve been following Adam since Strictly, and seeing him so happy is everything!

TV personality Dan, age 48, shared a photo of the wedding program on Instagram, expressing how ‘wonderful’ the day was. He and his partner, Adam, were contestants on Strictly in 2021.

Dan and his wife, Sarah, enjoyed celebrating with Adam Peaty and Holly Ramsay yesterday, as Dan shared in a post.

It was a fantastic wedding with lovely people and amazing service. The reception was unforgettable, the speeches were brilliant, and we even got to sing some great songs during the church service!

Dan shared a photo of the illustrated cover of the service program, and also a picture of the hymn “Be Thou My Vision” from inside the program – the same hymn he used as the music for his Instagram post.

Sara Davies, 41, who became known as a star on the show Dragon’s Den, was also at the event. She and Adam became friends while competing on Strictly Come Dancing.

Although Sara hasn’t posted any photos from the wedding yet, she did share a heartfelt message and some pictures of her and Adam on Instagram on Sunday.

She fondly remembered attending a wonderful wedding yesterday, and it made her realize how grateful she is to have had him in her life for the last four years.

We became close friends the moment we met on Strictly, and I was truly honored to be at Bath Abbey, witnessing his heartfelt reaction as his partner walked down the aisle.

It was a truly wonderful day! Simon and I had an amazing time, the ceremony was lovely, and honestly, the wedding food was the best I’ve ever tasted.

‘Wishing my wonderful friend and his gorgeous bride a lifetime of happiness together.’
