Adam Peaty’s mum shares heartbreaking hope for 2026 as she says ‘I deserve a year that doesn’t hurt’ and admits she’s ‘lost a piece of herself’ after bitter feud with her son

Adam Peaty’s mother, Caroline, recently shared a touching and hopeful message on Instagram about her wishes for 2026, along with some thoughtful reflections.

Caroline wasn’t allowed to attend her son and Holly Ramsay’s wedding this weekend because of a long-running and difficult family disagreement.

She shared a post on social media from another user, stating: ‘I deserve a year without pain’.

I’m not going to pretend this year was easy. I experienced a loss that deeply affected me, and I’m not going to act like it didn’t change who I am. I’m acknowledging the pain and accepting that things will never be quite the same.

I’m not making any predictions about 2026 being a good year. Instead, I’m hoping for recovery and strength, and that I won’t have to experience this kind of pain or hardship ever again.

I’m hoping for true peace—the kind where I can simply live and breathe without constantly struggling. I really need a year without pain.

She shared again: ‘Just a friendly reminder that you don’t need to make New Year’s resolutions, big decisions, or grand announcements if you don’t want to.’

‘You can just set some sweet intentions and take each day as it comes.’

Caroline, a mother devastated by heartbreak, was overwhelmed with grief after missing her son’s wedding on Saturday, a day that should have been filled with joy.

Everyone in the Peaty family was excluded from the wedding except for Adam’s sister, Beth, who was a bridesmaid along with the bride’s sisters, Megan and Tilly.

Recent reports indicate that Mark, Adam’s father, was the sole guest invited to the wedding besides Beth. However, he was instructed to sit in the back, with those who came as guests of other guests.

During the wedding reception, Gordon Ramsay, the bride’s father, is said to have made a harsh joke about the groom’s parents in his speech.

Gordon Ramsay, 59, has seemingly addressed the recent family issues involving his stepson Adam Peaty. According to The Sun, he expressed confidence that his wife, Tana, will be a supportive mother to both of her sons. The report also states that Adam has now blocked his family’s attempts to contact him.

During his speech at the wedding, Gordon complimented Holly on how stunning she looked and told Adam he was fortunate to be marrying her. He then pointed to his wife, Tana, saying Adam could expect a similar happy future with Holly.

Honestly, it’s disheartening to hear reports of Gordon Ramsay making such a personal comment. Apparently, he reportedly made a rather pointed remark to his daughter, Holly, about her father, Adam, not being present – something along the lines of ‘It’s a shame you don’t have the same.’ As someone who champions healthy family dynamics, it’s just… not a great look. It really highlights how important it is to be mindful of the impact our words have, especially on children, and to avoid bringing past hurts into the present.

During his speech, Adam focused on thanking his swim coach, Mel Marshall, whom he described as a hugely important influence and source of inspiration, rather than discussing his family or parents.

In an emotional moment he also reportedly said that he saw Mel ‘like a mum’ due to her support.

According to a source, the Ramsays intentionally worked to remove Adam’s family, and they’ve now achieved that goal.

Honestly, it just gets to me! You’d think Gordon and Tana, as parents themselves, would understand what Caroline and Mark are going through, and have a little more sympathy for the whole family. It’s just… frustrating to watch, knowing they could be so much kinder.

Representatives for Adam and Gordon have been contacted by The Daily Mail for comment.

Bethany was the only Peaty family member at the wedding, and now she’s dealing with the aftermath while Adam and Holly enjoy their honeymoon.

Sources close to the family say Bethany’s mother feels hurt and betrayed because Bethany is going to the wedding and is a bridesmaid.

According to a source, Beth has turned against her mother, seemingly hoping to benefit from her good relationship with Adam and Holly. The source also claims Beth’s behavior has changed since becoming close friends with Holly.

Bethany seems different lately. She’s altered how she looks and acts, seemingly to blend in with the glamorous world of the Ramsays.

Bethany went to the bride’s bachelorette party several weeks before the wedding, and it ended up being a major part of a family disagreement.

When Holly didn’t invite Adam’s mother to her bachelorette party, it caused a lot of upset within the Peaty family. Adam’s aunt, Louise, publicly criticized Holly and her nephew on Instagram, and later revealed that her sister, Caroline, hadn’t been invited to the wedding because of her appearance, claiming she didn’t fit the desired aesthetic.

Bethany was invited to Holly’s idyllic hen do in the Cotswolds, and sources say she’s been welcomed by the Ramsay family because she blends well with their sophisticated lifestyle.

According to a family friend who spoke with The Sun last month, Bethany has always been close to Adam and is drawn to the exciting world of celebrity. She’s become fascinated by the glamour and attention that come with it.

She was incredibly excited to be at the bachelorette party, especially because she got to spend time with Victoria Beckham, and she was eager to share the experience with her friends.

‘She really fits in with the glam world – she’s blonde and very pretty.’

Speaking from the home where Adam spent his childhood, Caroline told The Mail on Sunday she wouldn’t allow herself to be hurt again, and that Holly and Adam had broken her heart.

Just before Adam walked into the abbey with his five-year-old son, George, he received a heartbreaking text message from his aunt Louise, who hadn’t been invited to the wedding either.

She wrote, expressing her hope that he would never experience the same intense pain he’d caused their mother. Despite everything, she still loved him, and she expressed her disappointment and disapproval of both of them.

On this joyful day, and every anniversary of it, please remember the deep pain you caused your mother. Her heart still aches from it.
