Olympic swimmer Adam Peaty’s mother, Caroline Peaty, 59, won’t be attending his Christmas wedding to Holly, 25, due to a disagreement. The issue stemmed from Holly not inviting her future mother-in-law to her bachelorette party.
Gordon Ramsay’s daughter held pre-wedding festivities at the popular Soho Farmhouse, inviting guests like her mother, Tana, Victoria Beckham, and Adam’s sister Bethany. However, reports suggest that Caroline is deeply upset after not receiving an invitation.
Adam’s family is furious after Caroline publicly shared her feelings online. Her sister, Louise Williams (known as @Loobylou on Instagram), and their aunt Jan have also expressed their outrage, calling the situation a mess.
Louise, Adam’s aunt, expressed deep concern for her sister, saying she was very upset after her relationship with Adam ended. Louise claimed Adam feels embarrassed by his brothers and surprisingly posted photos of Holly from her bachelorette party on social media.
Holly didn’t invite Caroline to her party, despite Caroline’s crucial role in helping him achieve Olympic success. Caroline ended up staying home in Uttoxeter, Staffordshire, caring for her five-year-old grandson, George – Holly’s son from a previous relationship with Eirianedd Munro.
On Monday, Caroline posted a message to Instagram that many interpreted as a veiled reference to a personal situation. The image contained the quote, ‘When you love someone, you protect them from the pain, you don’t become the cause of it.’
She captioned the post with: ‘The ones I love are the people who hurt me the most.’
The post quickly received a lot of attention from Adam Peaty’s family, including an explanation from his aunt, Louise, about why he wasn’t included in a recent bachelorette party, and also comments regarding the mental health of Adam’s brothers.
She explained that they excluded her after she refused to apologize for cancelling the trip to Bath. This was due to the initial train cancellation, and because Caroline wouldn’t disown her sons – both of whom have ADHD and mental health challenges – whom Adam found embarrassing.
It seems acceptable that Adam profited from writing about his brothers’ difficulties. I’m curious – if you’re a mother, would you prioritize maintaining a relationship with a celebrity over supporting two sons in need?
Louise continued, explaining that her daughter always supports all of her children, which bothers Adam. She added that, given Adam and Holly present themselves as mental health advocates, she’s surprised by his reaction.
No loving mother would ever abandon her own child, and that certainly includes Carol8ne, who is known for her immense kindness and generosity.
Caroline is truly one of the kindest people I know – she always steps up to help whenever someone needs it. I sometimes worry she’s too kind, because she’s easily hurt. Like any sisters, we have our disagreements and go through periods of not speaking, but we love each other deeply. I’m fiercely protective of her.
She also wrote that Holly didn’t invite her to the bachelorette party, but all the other mothers were included, and now she’s being left out of the wedding as well.
Caroline and Mark gave up so much for Adam, and this is the thanks they get. Whenever I try to support her online, I’m threatened with consequences! I simply stated that the truth will always come out.
Caroline had to step in when one of her followers posted a message saying, ‘Please, just stop. Apologize to your son. Your biggest problem is that you can’t stand being alone and won’t let your son live his own life. He’s an adult now—it’s time for you to act like one too.’
She responded angrily, saying, ‘You don’t know anything about me or my family, and I don’t appreciate your comment. And your remark about not wanting my son to grow up is ridiculous – of course I want my children to be happy, just like any mother.’
Honestly, I was absolutely over the moon when my son told me he’d met the one! It just… it filled me with so much joy, and I really wanted to make sure everyone understood how happy I am for him. It’s just… everything I’ve ever wanted for him!
Even though she was invited to the bachelorette party, Bethany supported her family by joining her Aunt Janet in liking a comment that expressed hope the Beckhams would offer support, considering their own experiences.

She welcomed you into her life and home, but you chose not to include her – your future mother-in-law – in your bachelorette party. Interestingly, Adam did invite your dad, his future father-in-law, to his bachelor party.
Honestly, I was a little hurt you invited so many people – your mum, which is lovely, even her assistant! And your sisters and friends, plus my niece, which is sweet – but you completely left out my sister, and she’s going to be your mother-in-law! It just felt a bit…off, you know?
