Adam Peaty cried when ‘love of his life’ Holly Ramsay walked down the aisle as groom’s showbiz pal says it was ‘a privilege’ to be at ‘this amazing man’s wedding’ after his family were uninvited

Adam Peaty was overcome with emotion and cried as his wife, Holly Ramsay, walked down the aisle at their wedding on Saturday, according to close friend Sara Davies.

Olympic swimmer, age 31, married influencer Holly, age 25, on Saturday at Bath Abbey. The reception was held at the luxurious Kin House. The wedding happened despite a family dispute that led to the swimmer’s mother being disinvited.

Sara Davies, known from the TV show Dragon’s Den, attended the event and became friends with Adam after they both competed on Strictly Come Dancing in 2021.

Sara hasn’t posted any wedding photos yet, but she did share a heartfelt message and some pictures of her and Adam on Instagram on Sunday.

She fondly recalled attending a wonderful wedding yesterday, adding that it made her realize how grateful she is to have had this person in her life for the last four years.

We became close friends the moment we met on Strictly, and I was truly honored to be at Bath Abbey to witness his wedding and see how moved he was as his future wife walked towards him.

It was a truly wonderful day! Simon and I had an amazing time, the ceremony was lovely, and honestly, the wedding food was the best I’ve ever tasted.

‘Wishing my wonderful friend and his gorgeous bride a lifetime of happiness together.’

She posted a collection of photos of them together from over the years, plus some candid shots from behind the scenes of Strictly Come Dancing.

Sara shared photos from the ceremony at the Abbey on her social media Story, where she caught up with her friend and former Strictly Come Dancing co-star, Dan Walker.

She was joined by her husband Simon and wore a pretty blue and black flower patterned dress.

Dan gave fans their first look inside the wedding of the Olympian and Holly, calling it an ‘unforgettable’ celebration, on Sunday morning.

TV personality Dan, age 48, shared a photo of the wedding program on Instagram, expressing how ‘wonderful’ the day was. He and his partner Adam competed on Strictly Come Dancing together in 2021.

Dan and his wife, Sarah, enjoyed celebrating with Adam Peaty and Holly Ramsay yesterday, and he shared that they had a lovely time.

It was a fantastic wedding with lovely people and amazing service. The reception was unforgettable, the speeches were brilliant, and we even got to sing some great songs during the church ceremony!

Dan shared a photo of the illustrated cover of the service program, and also included a picture of the hymn “Be Thou My Vision” from inside. He used the same hymn as the background music for his Instagram post.

On Sunday, Cruz Beckham also shared a selfie with brother Romeo during the bash.

Holly arrived at her wedding in Bath Abbey with her famous chef father, but she wore a large, flowing ivory cloak to hide her lace wedding dress.

The influencer had a valid reason to feel nervous as she walked through the crowded onlookers on her way to marry Adam.

The couple’s seemingly perfect wedding hid a bitter family conflict. The groom’s mother, and most of his relatives, weren’t invited to the celebration, with accusations of elitism and social prejudice surfacing as the reason.

Honestly, it just kills me to think about my Adam’s mom, Caroline. She’s absolutely devastated, stuck at home over 130 miles away in Staffordshire, and missing what should have been the most wonderful day of her life. They say she’s completely heartbroken, and I can’t even imagine how she must be feeling. It’s just awful!

Standing in front of the house where he spent his childhood, 59-year-old Adam told The Mail on Sunday, ‘I won’t allow myself to be hurt this way again’.

She had told Daily Mail that she felt as if Holly and Adam ‘have cut my heart out’.

Just before entering the abbey with his son George, swimmer Adam Peaty received a heartbreaking text message from his aunt Louise, who hadn’t been invited to the wedding. This newspaper has learned the details of this message.

As someone who spends a lot of time thinking about healthy relationships, this message really struck me. It’s a raw, heartbreaking expression of pain, and a plea for understanding. It basically says, ‘I truly hope you never experience the level of hurt you’ve inflicted on your mother, and unbelievably, she still loves you.’ It’s a powerful statement, filled with both sadness and disappointment, and a strong call for both parties to reflect on their actions.

On this joyful day, and every anniversary of it, please remember the deep pain you caused your mother. Her heart still aches from it.

This family feud started in September 2024 when Adam and Holly didn’t invite many of their relatives to their engagement party, causing significant hurt feelings.

Caroline wasn’t invited to Holly’s fancy hen party last month at Soho Farmhouse, despite years of driving her son to training and the presence of guests like Holly’s mother, Tana Ramsay, and Victoria Beckham.

Despite everything Caroline sent a card and gift to her newlywed son for his 31st birthday today.

Adam’s great-aunt Janet, 73, who wasn’t invited to the wedding yesterday, shared with The Mail on Sunday that she feels deeply sorry for Caroline.

It’s shocking how he’s treating his mother, especially considering everything she’s done for him since he was young. It’s simply unkind.

Even though everyone was avoiding her and she was heartbroken, Caroline had warned she would still come to the wedding. If she wasn’t allowed inside the church, she said she would stand outside and watch from the street.

She explained yesterday that she decided not to go because her husband, Mark, felt it would be too distressing for her.

If she hadn’t ignored her son’s order, she would have been stopped by five security guards stationed before the abbey’s old, intricately decorated wooden doors. These doors were surrounded by beautiful white roses and hydrangeas arranged around decorative columns.

The Ramsays spent a significant amount of money on the wedding venue, reserving it exclusively for the day. Normally, weddings there cost about £2,500, but they booked it privately to keep the ceremony completely secret.

Gordon Ramsay, known for his fiery temper and successful career as a chef, was surprisingly well-behaved as he assisted his daughter exiting a black Rolls-Royce. The car arrived around 12:30 PM outside a historic, Gothic-style abbey.

He leaned in and whispered something to her, then gently kissed her cheek. Meanwhile, someone was fixing her clothes, which were a bit messy.

Let me tell you, stepping out into the winter air that day was quite an experience! We were practically blown around by the cold wind, but the warmth of the season really shone through. Everywhere we went, people were shouting ‘Merry Christmas’ – it was so lovely to be surrounded by such joyful energy and good cheer!

The guests waiting to see the bride included many famous faces, like Sir David and Victoria Beckham – a couple who have experienced family drama themselves.

Romeo, Cruz, and Harper, the children of David and Victoria Beckham, were also at the event, as they’re good friends with the Ramsay family. However, Brooklyn wasn’t present.

Marcus Wareing from Masterchef: The Professionals and his wife Jane were also there.

The ensuing ceremony, one guest later told The Mail on Sunday, was ‘beautiful and very emotional’.

Like Adam, Holly wanted their wedding to be a religious ceremony, reflecting her strong Christian faith. George, Peaty’s son from a previous relationship, was reportedly a key part of the celebration.

Holly’s bridesmaids were her sisters, Megan, 27, and Tilly, 24, and Adam’s sister Bethany. Bethany was the only member of Adam’s family invited to both the wedding and Holly’s hen party.

Family members mentioned Bethany was chosen as a bridesmaid because she seemed to naturally belong in the Ramsays’ sophisticated lifestyle.

Some viewed Bethany’s action – joining arms with Holly’s older sister while entering the abbey with white lilies – as a deliberate act of rebellion against her family.

The bridesmaids all wore flowing red dresses created by Victoria Beckham. Victoria herself chose one of her own designs – a teal dress costing £1,290. The bride’s mother, Tana, also wore a dress from Victoria Beckham’s label, a dark green silk gown.

Peaty, meanwhile, slicked back his hair and wore the same dinner suit as his new father–in–law.

No one revealed who designed Holly’s beautiful floral lace dress. The designer remained a secret until Holly was safely inside the abbey, away from the cameras.

Aside from the noticeable lack of the bride’s father, the wedding ceremony went smoothly and the couple were happily married.

The newly married couple left the church around 1:30 PM, greeted by cheerful bells ringing from the abbey. They then drove to their reception at Kin House, a beautiful Georgian manor house located 17 miles from Chippenham.

The wedding reception included a delicious meal with prawn cocktail, beef Wellington, and pan-roasted halibut, finished with tarte tatin. A traditional wedding cake was served later that evening at 8pm.

According to a source, Holly and Adam put a lot of careful planning into their event, and everything went exactly as they hoped. They were thrilled to finally share it all with their guests.

Although the wedding ceremony and reception were kept very private, it’s expected they’ll be included in a future Netflix documentary focusing on the Ramsay family’s life.

Caroline Peaty might finally get to see her son’s wedding when it airs early next year – it could be the first time she’s seen it at all.
