Adam Peaty and Holly Ramsay are facing criticism for choosing to hold their wedding at a historic church and then closing it to the public.
The Olympic swimmer, age 30, and his 25-year-old model fiancée are getting married on December 27th at Bath Abbey. The historic abbey will be closed to the public all day for the wedding.
The wedding ceremony is expected to last only 90 minutes, but The Sun reports the couple have reserved the venue for the entire day, preventing other couples from getting married there.
Visitors won’t be allowed in, and security will be present to stop people from taking pictures of the area.
Although the abbey usually costs about £2,500 to rent for a wedding, the couple is reportedly paying significantly more – several thousand pounds extra – to have the venue all to themselves.
Local residents are unhappy with the decision, with one person commenting that it feels inconsiderate to book the abbey for an entire day when a wedding ceremony typically lasts only about an hour and a half.

Daily Mail has contacted Adam and Holly’s representatives for comment.
Despite the ongoing and highly public family drama surrounding Holly’s upcoming wedding to Adam, she and her father appeared to set things aside on Monday evening while enjoying dinner with friends at his restaurant in Mayfair.
Oh my gosh, you will NOT believe this! Apparently, Adam Peaty’s mom, Caroline, has been completely cut off – like, officially banned – from getting any special treatment because of this HUGE drama that started way back in November. It all blew up because she wasn’t invited to his fiancée’s hen do! Can you even imagine? It’s been so public and messy, and now she’s totally out in the cold. I’m absolutely obsessed with keeping up with all the details, it’s just wild!
Guests had begun arriving before the wedding ceremony, and Gordon Ramsay enjoyed a meal of prawns and caviar sushi at his restaurant, Lucky Cat. The restaurant’s special ‘chef’s table’ menu costs up to £180 per person.
The influencer was accompanied by Eve Winnington, who is married to Australian swimmer Elijah Winnington and is also friends with the couple.
Winnington posted a photo of herself with Ramsay in the bathroom on Instagram, along with pictures of the food from her pre-wedding meal.
On the evening, the future bride especially enjoyed a £135 seafood platter, which included sushi, salted edamame, and sweet and sour prawns.
Swimmer Tom Peaty surprised many people last month by saying he’d asked his family not to come to his wedding. This came after his mother, Caroline, wasn’t included in the pre-wedding celebrations for his fiancée, Holly.

The surprising family conflict began when it came to light that Adam’s mother wasn’t invited to Holly’s pre-wedding celebration. Holly was joined at the event, held at Soho Farmhouse, by her mother Tana, Adam’s sister Bethany, and Victoria Beckham.
After being excluded, problems quickly became public, with both sides sharing surprising accusations about the aftermath. These included claims that Holly and Adam pressured Caroline into changing her wedding outfit because they disapproved of her original selection.
Reports show the conflict between the two families started at Holly and Adam’s engagement party, which was captured on camera for Gordon’s new Netflix documentary.
Cameras followed Gordon for nine months while he launched five restaurants in London, all while balancing his personal commitments.
Holly and Adam’s engagement party last December offers a glimpse of a happier time, before a difficult falling out led Adam to uninvite most of his family from their wedding.
However, The Sun reported that problems were already appearing at the party, as Caroline had several complaints.

According to a source, Adam’s family attended the engagement party when everyone was still getting along. Their relationship deteriorated after that event.
‘His mum was unhappy some of the family weren’t there and confronted Gordon at the event.
‘Guests were made to sign non-disclosure agreements and hand in phones as the party was filmed.’
It also came to light that Adam Peaty’s sister, Bethany, is the only family member on his side who still seems to be on good terms with him, following a difficult family dispute before his wedding.
A disagreement over a bachelorette party caused a major reaction from Adam Peaty’s family. His aunt, Louise, publicly criticized him and his fiancée, Holly, in a series of comments on Instagram.
She later said she didn’t invite her sister, Caroline, to the wedding because of her appearance, explaining that she didn’t fit the desired aesthetic.
Despite a family disagreement, Peaty’s sister, Bethany, was still included in the photos from Holly’s hen party in the Cotswolds.
According to The Sun, Bethany was chosen not for her talent, but because she matches the image the Ramsay family presents – specifically, that she is blonde and attractive.
People are saying Bethany has become caught up in the glamorous world of celebrities, and she’s even been asked to be a bridesmaid at Holly’s wedding.
According to a family friend, Bethany has a strong connection with Adam and is drawn to the exciting world of celebrity. She’s become captivated by the glamour and attention that come with it.
She was thrilled to be at the hen party, especially getting to spend time with Victoria Beckham, and was eager to share the experience with her friends. She seems right at home in that glamorous lifestyle – she’s beautiful and has the look to match.
