In a graceful retort, Adam Pearson handled a rude comment from a troll who doubted if he was going to the circus rather than the BAFTAs.

At the recent high-profile movie gathering, a 40-year-old actor attended, accompanied by his fellow stars from “A Different Man.” Despite this, he was met with uncalled-for comments about his looks from some unpleasant internet commenters.

Adam suffers from neurofibromatosis, a seldom-occurring genetic condition that leads to non-cancerous growths appearing on various nerve tissues across the body.

One especially rude troll posted a photo of him and actor Warwick Davis at a red carpet event, captioning it: “Did we attend an awards ceremony or was there a circus in town?

Warwick, the 55-year-old actor recognized for his performances in Harry Potter, Star Wars, and Willow, received a Lifetime Achievement Award despite being born with Spondyloepiphyseal dysplasia congenita (SED), a type of dwarfism.

In a direct response to the troll on X, Adam skillfully countered by saying, “It seems everyone forgot their lessons. Just to make it clear, @fartsniffer0614, this was the 2025 BAFTA Film Awards.

I find it rather ironic, coming from someone who advocates for spreading kindness, to see you belittling two accomplished actors merely because they are differently-abled. It seems incongruous with your stated mission.

‘Take your ableism elsewhere.’

Later on, I took to Twitter to amplify a powerful statement that resonated with me – “Louder for the folks in the back!” This was in response to a post highlighting the unfortunate instances of unkind remarks made towards individuals living with disabilities. As a lifestyle expert, I believe it’s crucial to stand up against such behavior and support inclusivity and empathy in our communities.

Meanwhile, Adam’s response garnered praise from many fans, but it wasn’t just that moment that left him stunned during the BAFTA awards.

In a forthright manner, the report reveals that on another occasion, Adam boldly responded to the troll, stating, “Fortunately, you’re not Camila, and more significantly, you weren’t extended an invitation.

As a lifestyle advisor, I’d rephrase it this way: “In the face of criticism from social media users defending me, I realize now that my joke fell flat and caused harm. I failed to consider the impact my words might have on others, even celebrities like myself are not immune to hurtful comments. I sincerely apologize for my mistake, and I’ve removed the offending tweet. I accept the consequences of my actions.

Later on, they responded to those criticizing them due to Adam’s comment, posting: “I unintentionally made a hurtful joke and removed the tweet once it had fewer than 200 likes. I acknowledged my mistake and apologized to you. I took down the tweet before you even wrote about it.

I can’t stop thinking about how you transformed a seemingly innocuous tweet, which had been removed, into a whirlwind of online bullying and death threats from countless individuals. It’s staggering to see my life splashed across headlines as a result.

Both Adam and the troll have since deleted their messages. 

Recently, Adam has been noticed for his performance in Aaron Schimberg’s film titled “A Different Man,” alongside Sebastian Stan. The story revolves around Edward, played by Stan, who undergoes facial reconstruction surgery. However, he develops an intrigue towards Oswald, the character portrayed by Pearson, who plays him in a stage production.

Initially, Adam made a notable debut on Channel 4’s pioneering show, “Beauty And The Beast: Exposing Prejudice.

The series brought together individuals with facial abnormalities and beauty pageant wives, aiming to delve into our modern culture’s preoccupation with physical idealism.

Prior to embarking on his acting career, Adam previously worked as a researcher for both the BBC and Channel 4. In this role, he served as the casting researcher for The Undateables. Subsequently, he moved on to create documentaries, one of which was Horizon: My Amazing Twin for the BBC in 2016, where he and his brother delved into the topic of genetics together.
