Adam Levine’s ex-Maroon 5 bandmate accused of sexting teens – and attacking wife when she confronted him on it

Musician Mickey Madden, who was previously a bassist in the band Maroon 5 led by Adam Levine, faces allegations that he physically assaulted his spouse following an argument about him sending inappropriate texts to minors.

According to court documents submitted by Kate Bowman, Madden’s wife, she stated that he had physically harmed her during a sequence of incidents that occurred on July 21. Now, she expresses fear towards him.

Bowman stated that the bass player appeared extremely disturbed when she inquired about the rumors involving him and underage girls, who he was accused of exchanging messages about a hypothetical rape scenario.

In an emotional outburst, Madden became highly agitated when Bowman inquired about the matter at hand. According to Bowman’s testimony, he forcefully gripped her arms and violently pushed her against a kitchen counter.

‘He pulled me to the ground and was out of his mind,’ Bowman told the court in her filing.

The Daily Mail contacted representatives for the band, as well as a supposed Instagram account belonging to Mickey Madden, for more information regarding this developing story.

Bowman described her efforts to flee the dangerous situation in her court filing.

She stated that she was able to evade him by moving about, rising from her seat, and fleeing outside the house to get away from him.

She went on to say: ‘He chased after me, only wearing his undergarments and without shoes, managed to catch up, pushed me up against a fence, and then attempted to pull me back into the house.’

Bowman stated that she successfully fled and ran onto the street, however, Madden located her on two separate occasions and physically assaulted her every time.

Bowman included screengrabs in her filing from ring camera footage to support her claims.

In simpler terms, Bowman attempted to get Madden’s phone but ended up feeling frightened for her safety and had to leave the house.

In a court document, it was stated that Bowman managed to search the phone’s contents after she fled down the street, took cover among parked cars to avoid the angry musician, and subsequently made her statement.

Bowman told the court that Madden had never shown that level of outrage prior to their marriage.

In my testimony, I revealed that a stranger had brought text-related accusations against Madden to my attention, as stated in the court document I submitted.

In my professional capacity, I’ve shared with the court that following the unfortunate conflict, I made the decision to leave the shared residence and have temporarily taken up residence with a trusted friend, as detailed in my court submission.

In their court hearing, Bowman testified that Madden expressed remorse through a text message and mentioned his intention to seek treatment for a sex addiction.

She mentioned her worry that Madden might react unpredictably upon discovering she hired a lawyer using one of their shared credit cards, following the incident on July 21st.

Bowman is seeking an order that prohibits Madden from getting any closer than 100 yards to her, her workplace, home, or any vehicle she’s using.

During their more than four years of marriage, Madden exercised financial authority or dominance over Bowman.

Bowman mentioned that she has since taken up a new job, expressing her worry that Madden might attempt to locate her at her workplace. Furthermore, she disclosed that she’s already paid a security deposit for an apartment where she plans to live.

Apart from seeking custody of their two Siberian Huskies, Jam and Toast, Bowman also requests the costs associated with their care.

In response to the domestic violence accusations, a judge in the Los Angeles Superior Court temporarily restricted Bowman’s actions, but did not order Madden to leave their shared home yet. A more detailed discussion about this issue is scheduled for a later court hearing.

For approximately 26 years, Madden served as the bassist for Maroon 5, a band renowned for hits such as “Makes Me Wonder,” “Moves Like Jagger,” and “She Will Be Loved.” However, he parted ways with the band in 2020.

In July of 2020, he chose to distance himself from Maroon 5 following his arrest for alleged domestic violence incidents.

In his statement, Madden explained that he has pressing matters to handle and address immediately, leading him to take a temporary break. He expressed that he doesn’t wish to be a hindrance to his bandmates during this period. His sincere hope is for their continued success.
