Adam Driver has defended Megalopolis, Francis Ford Coppola’s self-funded epic sci-fi movie.

In simpler terms, during the American Film Institute (AFI)’s 50th Life Achievement Award ceremony, the actor from Star Wars commended Francis Ford Coppola, who was being honored. Last year, Driver appeared in Coppola’s film Megalopolis, which is a $120 million production that Coppola has been working on since 1983.

The film garnered mediocre responses, earning a rating of just 45% from critics on Rotten Tomatoes and grossing only $14.3 million at the box office – significantly lower than the movie’s production cost.

On the first day of shooting Megalopolis, the actor reminisced about the most exceptional direction he had ever received, which was on the initial day of filming. He shared that Coppola stated in front of everyone, “We’re not pushing ourselves hard enough.” (As reported by Deadline)
