On Tuesday night, there wasn’t a single person left with dry eyes as Lynne McGranger, the 2025 Gold Logie winner for her role as Irene Roberts on Home and Away, bid farewell to the show.
Although the emotional scenes in the episode stood out, it’s worth noting that Ada Nicodemou demonstrates an astonishing timelessness, as if she hasn’t aged a bit since her initial portrayal of Irene’s friend Leah Patterson all those years ago.
The Aussie actress’ face was wrinkle-free – a result of her cosmetic work over the years.
Ada, who has fronted the series for 25 years, teared up several times during the emotional goodbye.
The 48-year-old’s face seemed tight, and her jawline appeared significantly sharper compared to past years.
Ada has admitted to getting cosmetic work done in the past.

2019 saw the Australian celebrity publicly disclose that she indeed went through a breast enhancement surgery and received Botox injections, following years of public conjecture regarding these changes.
In a response to an Instagram critic suggesting she was not genuine, the woman with one child openly acknowledged it.
She stated, “I never use fillers and seldom use Botox; the only surgical procedure I’ve had that some might label ‘fake’ is breast augmentation, a choice I feel entitled to make.
In a conversation with New Idea magazine back in 2017, the actress who hails from Sydney stated that she might consider Botox or laser therapies at some point in the future.
Instead, she emphasized the significance of doing what brings personal joy, also mentioning that each person has the autonomy to decide for themselves.
Ada remarked, “These days, it seems that many individuals are dabbling in various cosmetic procedures. Just as facials were commonplace twenty years ago, Botox and laser treatments have become as popular.
On Tuesday evening, Home and Away bid farewell to one of its cherished characters. She embarked on a journey to explore the world following her diagnosis with Alzheimer’s disease.
Before her illness halted her journeys, the renowned character embarked on a trip to Europe, leaving quite an impact on spectators. However, some viewers believed this particular installment didn’t live up to expectations.

Fans of the series voiced their main criticism: the absence of former cast members during Irene’s farewell, with several noting that the present actors were unexpectedly absent from the moving closing moments as well.
One viewer mentioned they felt it was a bit odd that there weren’t any flashbacks when she was departing, or familiar characters bidding her farewell, as it seemed like the entire cast wasn’t present.
‘Those cast members who didn’t show up to Irene’s farewell, shame shame,’ said another.
As a lifestyle connoisseur, I must express my disappointment when not being able to gather the entire current main cast, and that’s putting it mildly. To make things worse, the absence of past characters only adds to my dissatisfaction.
