Actor from Harlan Coben’s Stay Close joins award-winning BBC series “to shake things up” in season 2
As a gaming enthusiast, I can’t contain my excitement about diving into the world of BBC’s comedy-drama “Dinosaur”! I’ve just learned that star Hyoie O’Grady is joining the cast, and his addition is set to create some serious ripples. Can’t wait to see how he shakes things up!
The show, developed by Matilda Curtis and Ashley Storrie, centers around Nina (played by Storrie), a 30-year-old autistic woman who cherishes her domestic life with her sister, Evie ( portrayed by Kat Ronney). However, a surprise comes their way when Evie rushes into an engagement.
Featuring David Carlyle and Lorn Macdonald, the heartwarming and laugh-out-loud series “Dinosaur” has been greenlit for a second season by the BBC. It is now official that O’Grady will be part of the ensemble.

Introduced as a novel love interest for Nina, O’Grady’s character is expected to introduce some excitement, potentially causing a stir in her life. The character is rumored to add humor and unexpected twists to an already intriguing storyline surrounding Nina.
Besides O’Grady’s cast members being involved, it has been disclosed that production for the second season of Dinosaur is currently in progress, with all the mentioned actors returning to their original characters.
Over the moon with joy, I can’t help but express my excitement! The incredible crew who breathed life into series 1 has received well-deserved recognition from our fellow professionals in the Scottish film and television industry. This news, following the renewal of our project by BBC, is truly a momentous occasion for us all! (Storrie’s words)
She expressed her eagerness about delving deeper into Nina and her family’s tale. It’s possible there could be real dinosaurs this time, she playfully hinted. Meanwhile, co-writer Curtis shared his anticipation to return to the realm of Nina.
The show is promoted as offering a genuine portrayal and fresh comedy, and we can expect Nina’s captivating exploration of self will continue, delving deeper into themes of sisterhood, affection, and camaraderie.
Previously, O’Grady graced our screens as Ken in Netflix’s “Stay Close,” an eight-episode series inspired by Harlan Coben’s 2012 novel with the same title. Besides this role, the actor also appeared in “Sherlock & Daughter,” a mystery show that draws from the works of Arthur Conan Doyle.
Dinosaur is available to stream on BBC iPlayer, while Stay Close is streaming on Netflix.
