Actor Ben Foster files for divorce from ‘That ’70s Show’ star Laura Prepon
As a seasoned movie reviewer who’s seen more than my fair share of love stories unfold both on and off screen, I can’t help but feel a twinge of sadness upon hearing about Ben Foster and Laura Prepon’s decision to part ways. Their journey together, much like the plotlines in some of our favorite films, was filled with highs and lows, laughter and tears, and the promise of a happy ending that, unfortunately, didn’t quite pan out as planned.
Actors Ben Foster, known for “X-Men: The Last Stand,” and Laura Prepon from “Orange Is the New Black” have officially ended their marriage following a year apart.
Last month, Foster filed for a divorce in Tennessee, where they have resided with their two children for the past two years. This marks the end of their six-year marriage, which he stated in his filing, obtained by The Times this week, had been fraught with irreconcilable differences and an inability to live together harmoniously as a married couple.
The actor from the film industry announced their wedding day as May 25, 2018, and their separation date as September 9, 2023, a year before they filed for divorce. As per Davidson County court documents, Prepon received the divorce papers on September 13.
On Wednesday, neither Foster’s nor Prepon’s representatives provided further remarks in response to The Times’ follow-up questions.
In court, Foster requested enforcement of a prenuptial agreement from 2018 that aimed for a fair division of marital assets and liabilities, as well as the adoption of their “marriage dissolution agreement and joint parenting plan” into their final divorce judgment. As parents, they have two young children together.
In July 2016, the actress from “That ’70s Show” started dating Foster, having been good friends for a long time beforehand. The couple got engaged that same October and had their first child, daughter Ella, in 2017. Although Foster stated in a court filing that they married in New York in May 2018, Prepon herself mentioned on an Instagram post dated June 3, 2018, that they were “just married.” Their second child, whose name remains undisclosed, was born in early 2020.
This is the first marriage and first divorce for both Foster and Prepon.
