In a fresh turn of events, the initial glimpses from “The Assassin,” the latest series featuring Keeley Hawes and Freddie Highmore, have been unveiled.
In the forthcoming crime-thriller produced by Prime Video, we find protagonists Julie (played by Hawes), a former assassin who has since retired, and her son, Edward (Highmore). Their peaceful life is disrupted when Julie’s past returns to endanger them, forcing them into a perilous struggle for survival.
Although a specific release date hasn’t been announced yet, Amazon Prime Video has unveiled four fresh pictures for the upcoming six-episode series. These images highlight the main cast members and the stunning Greek scenery, with one of them depicting the protagonist, played by Hawes, seemingly returning to her former profession.

In the picturesque setting of an isolated Greek island, former hitman Julie and her long-estranged son Edward find themselves compelled to join forces for their own safety. As they grapple with doubts about Edward’s true parentage and Julie’s dark past threatening to resurface, they are left with no choice but to escape the island and evade capture together.
Apart from Hawes and Highmore, who hold executive producer roles, the cast for “The Assassin” features Gina Gershon, Shalom Brune-Franklin from “Our Girl“, Jack Davenport, Alan Dale, Gerald Kyd, Devon Terrell, Richard Dormer, and David Dencik.
Besides Hawes and Highmore (who are also the executive producers), Gina Gershon, Shalom Brune-Franklin from “Our Girl”, Jack Davenport, Alan Dale, Gerald Kyd, Devon Terrell, Richard Dormer, and David Dencik are part of the cast for “The Assassin”.
Hawes expressed his gratitude for spending the summer in Athens, working alongside the exceptional Freddie Highmore and a cast and crew of remarkable talent on this particular project. (He’s known for his roles in ‘Bodyguard’ and ‘Line of Duty’).
Breathing life into the outstanding screenplays penned by Jack and Harry Williams was nothing short of delightful – working became an exhilarating experience. I fervently wish that everyone finds enjoyment in our production, The Assassin, as much as we did during its creation.

Highmore shared his enthusiasm, expressing that nothing beats an exhilarating Greek journey with the exceptional and unmatched Keeley Hawes! “I can’t wait for everyone to catch a peek at our escapades,” he added, having previously graced the screen in shows like Bates Motel and The Good Doctor.
Working alongside this exceptional team of actors and technicians was an absolute pleasure, and I consider myself fortunate that Harry and Jack Williams put their faith in us to bring their signature gripping stories to life. To add to that, let me just say, these six episodes are going to be quite a spectacle!
The Assassin has no release date.
