Vizta Games, which is part of MOONTON Games, has just released its new 2-player bullet-hell shooter, ACECRAFT. The game features a diverse roster of Ace Pilots, customizable gear, attachments, exciting events, challenging Boss battles, and much more. In this review of ACECRAFT, I’ll share my thoughts and give a fair and honest rating.
I tested ACECRAFT by playing it for 15 hours on a Motorola G32 (Android). This gave me plenty of time to experience all the game offers and form a well-informed opinion for this review.
Chaotic bullet hell action mixed with roguelike depth and intense Boss fights
Let’s begin with a look at how ACECRAFT plays. The game first establishes its story, then walks you through a tutorial to cover the fundamental controls. At its heart, the gameplay blends the fast-paced excitement of bullet hell games with the classic feel of vertical shooters, resulting in an enjoyable experience.
I really liked the gameplay – it’s fun and keeps you hooked, immediately throwing you into action with lots of enemies, things flying at you, and exciting Boss fights. As you move forward, the Stages get harder, with even bigger groups of enemies and constant attacks. But that’s actually a good thing because it keeps the experience intense.
With that in mind, you’ll be able to use many different abilities, called attachments, to beat enemies and challenge the various Bosses. Besides attachments, you can also use Wingmans and equipment to boost how well you play. I also enjoyed the variety of Pilots available, and you can even improve them further.
A chaotic Cuphead-style ride with some familiar nostalgic faces
ACECRAFT really reminded me of Cuphead, the famous run-and-gun action game. Both games share a similar style with their cartoon-like graphics and challenging boss fights. Like the classic title, ACECRAFT keeps you on your toes with constant streams of enemies and things being fired at you, which makes for a hectic but fun time.
The game captures the same quick, challenging, and boss-focused energy, and I think it’s a great option if you enjoy Cuphead, particularly because it’s available on mobile devices. Plus, it offers excellent replay value, featuring a Tom and Jerry collaboration that was available from the very beginning, at its global launch.
In addition to the 8 Pilots, you can also unlock and play as Tom or Jerry, each with their own unique aircraft. Spike, the dog famous for tormenting Tom, joins the game as a boss character. With over 100 stages to play through, and game modes like Balloon Party, and even more to discover, you’ll likely find this game keeps you entertained for a long time.
Cuphead-inspired visuals with audio that enhances the whole experience
I think the game is visually stunning. The cartoony graphics, art style, and character designs are reminiscent of the beloved game Cuphead. Everything feels cohesive and perfectly complements the game’s overall theme. It’s a really charming aesthetic.
The audio design really enhances the game’s Cuphead-inspired style. The team did a fantastic job with the music, using jazz to create an enjoyable atmosphere that doesn’t get in the way. Personally, it makes the game even better, though others might feel differently.
Simple UI design and controls keep things clear and accessible
Regarding controls and the user interface, ACECRAFT prioritizes simplicity and ease of use. The interface is designed to be intuitive, letting you move through menus, sections, and other areas very smoothly. Everything is straightforward, so it’s easy for both new and experienced players to pick up and play.
Okay, so I’ve been playing ACECRAFT, and honestly, the ads at the beginning aren’t *too* bad. It’s pretty standard for games by MOONTON Games, so I’m used to it. The controls are really simple and feel good – really responsive! It took me just a sec to figure out that you hold to attack and then let go to block stuff, but once you get it, it’s smooth sailing.
IAPs do exist, but free rewards are enough to keep the experience fun
ACECRAFT lets you buy things within the app, including Special Packs, Growth Funds, Diamonds, and lots of other items. There’s also an Item Shop where you can use your Diamonds or Gold to get things like EXP Soda, Blueprints, and more. For even more options, Chapter Packs contain Diamonds, a Skyward Recruit Ticket, Gold, and a variety of random Blueprints.
However, you can still earn many items at no cost simply by watching advertisements. Similar to Mobile Legends: Bang Bang by MOONTON Games, the game provides bonuses for your initial purchases. For example, if you buy 500 Diamonds, you’ll receive an additional 500 as a bonus, and this pattern continues with other purchases. This is a good deal if you intend to spend some money on the game.
However, you don’t need to spend money to fully enjoy the game. Currently, the game offers many free rewards, and you should definitely use them to level up quickly and improve your Pilots and Gear. I personally had a fantastic experience playing the game without spending any money.
Final Verdict
ACECRAFT is a really enjoyable bullet-hell shooter, drawing visual inspiration from Cuphead and featuring tough boss battles. It stays interesting with lots of helpful roguelike abilities, a variety of Pilots to choose from, and over 100 different stages, so you’re unlikely to get bored quickly.
A really great thing about this game is how welcoming it is to players who don’t want to spend money. You can have fun playing for hours without needing to make any purchases, making it ideal for casual gamers. Although it can be difficult sometimes, it still offers a relaxing experience, different from many other competitive games.
With its appealing graphics and art design, engaging theme, great soundtrack, quick and dynamic gameplay featuring roguelike elements, responsive controls and user interface, substantial content, and accessibility for free-to-play players, ACECRAFT is a game you really should check out. This is particularly true if you enjoy Cuphead or are a fan of the bullet hell shooter genre.

I’m really into ACECRAFT, it’s a bullet-hell shooter that seriously grabbed my attention. The art style is amazing – it reminds me a lot of Cuphead. What keeps me coming back is that it’s a roguelike, so every run feels different, and the boss battles are intense! There are over 100 stages, which is a huge amount of content, so it can be pretty challenging, but honestly, the charm and the solid gameplay make it a game you have to try if you’re a gamer like me.
